4.5 achieved. No hot button yet

So the title says it all. My final installment just reached 4.5 in the Lit Control Panel but in the general list of stories it still only shows 4.33. I know it shouldn’t matter but I was curious why.
Any ideas? Voting is turned on.

Give it a chance. There's caching on the pages. Also, where are you looking? The story page may be lagging behind your Works page count... they *eventually* agree.

They have both been over the threshold and then back again. I have another two at precisely 4.50 (well a close as you can get with over 150 votes).

I seem to have a clear majority of my stuff comfortably hot. High 4.5s, or 4.6s and 4.7s (no 4.8s ). A handful comfortably luke warm. Low 4.4s and 4.3s (and one of the stories I like best currently at 3.98 FFS!). Then a few in the Twilight Zone of 4.5 ± 0.05, which oscillate in temperature.

I had a story go live today. Checked it half hour ago, 4.58, great! Checked it just now, 4.47.

Then I laugh at myself for checking, ratings do crazy things first day.

Well if it makes you feel any better, I have three stories at 4.49 and one at 4.47. Been that way for years.

Once you've been here a while your stories scores are erratic until your troll followers have hated your score down. It then settles down - takes around a month.

Your CP is the only place that updates the score in real time. Everywhere else a score shows up (even on the front page of the story itself), there'll be a lag. Different server cycles with different refresh clocks - the data always tracks inconsistently.
