$3000 For A Flat Screen Or...

Nah, I won't accuse Marxist of looting. Being jealous, maybe.

If you mean the Red Cross, I don't donate there anymore so I haven't been watching them much. I prefer smaller charities that others may overlook. The Red Cross is the first one everyone will turn to to give so I try to fill in elsewhere.

I'm sorry, my post was in jest, Marx is no looter, and truly is a fine human being. I mean that sincerely, I know others may not think so, but I do. He'd give the shirt off his back to someone in need, and would make a fine neighbor. I did not mean to actually imply otherwise.

And I know you donate more $ than I make.

I stand by the porn comment, though.

I know that, but if I'd agreed with you, he'd have taken it as a serious attack by me accusing him of being a looter. He couldn't have passed up such an opportunity.

Open your doors to these poor people sleeping in their own shit, John.

Boston: A five-story, 12-room Beacon Hill townhouse that serves as Kerry's main residence. Assessed value: $6.9 million.

Nantucket, Mass.: A three-story, five-bedroom waterfront retreat on Brant Point. Assessed value: $9.18 million.

Washington, D.C.: A 23-room townhouse in Georgetown. Proposed 2005 assessment: $4.7 million.

Ketchum, Idaho: A ski getaway converted from a reassembled barn near Sun Valley. Assessed value: $4.916 million. Heinz Kerry owns two adjoining lots valued at $1.5 million and $1.8 million.

Fox Chapel, Pa.: A nine-room colonial on nearly 90 acres in suburban Pittsburgh. The property also includes a nine-room, carriage house. Assessed value: $3.7 million.

I don't think luxuries are vulgar.
I think people can spend money on whatever they want to spend it on if it is their money.
I think this thread is a self serving one, and no different than the accusation.

Who cares what people spend their money on? If they have it, kudo's and those that don't, don't be so damned jealous.

Imagine all the people that could be housed in Crawford, Texas or in the compound in Maine?

Okay, I'm sure this sounds heartless, and thoughtless, and just downright evil, but here's My take on natural disasters that can be planned for....which a hurricane can, but most tornados and earthquakes and flashfloods can't.....

If someone in a position of authority tells you to evacuate and you don't, everything that happens to you is your own damned fault. Sure evacuation or not your house is still gone, but guess what, that's why you have insurance, it's not worth the chance of losing your life just to be able to bitch about it later.

True, I do feel sympathy, and have donated because not all the people stuck in NO are there because they chose to be, many of them truly couldn't leave. And I'm not talking about the people who said "I don't have a car." I'm talking about the people who physically or otherwise simply could not make the journey.

But the next time I see some dumbass in an innertube floating 3 feet from the roof of his house, I swear I'm going to find a way to make sure that an alligator or water moccasin finds him, not to kill him, but to give him something to fuckin' complain about.

MATT!!!!!!

It's been like ...forever!

Get ready 'cause I believe Texas declared "no more room at the inn" and the next load of 15-25,000 "people seeking refuge" is coming to Denver. Sorry.

How about getting this 71" plasma from LG instead? It's just $75,000.

As Home Theater Magazine said, "And remember, having a bigger television than all of your friends makes you a better person then them."

Are you sure that you didn't slip a digit and that tv is $7,500, not $75,000?
We didn't want one bigger than 40 inches or we would have bought one. The 40 inch fits perfectly in the space we have for it on the wall.

I have to admit I've never read Home Theater Magazine. Doesn't sound like anything I'd be interested in. :)

They are sending them to the Midwest, too, in addition to those that made it here on their own with help from families and friends. I think all states should pitch in and help, not just those in the area. Still, it is wonderful how many people Texas has been able to take. It really is something Texans should be proud of.

In the words of Bill Maher, "Congratulations-you just paid $10,000 to watch Hogan's Heroes."

Or in Chey's poverty case, $3,000.

If you bought new glasses you wouldn't need such a big TV.

Lifesize porn rocks, though. You should see perky's ass on this thing.

Nope, it's 75 grand. Not a misprint.

You can spend whatever you want on home theater, literally. This isn't even close to being the top of the line video array.

I wasn't looking at a home theater. Just a tv for the wall. :)
