30 in 30 Companion Thread

callie, don't despair, your muse will return. :)

Thank you, GP. I'm not despairing, I'm just really, really tired. I haven't slept more than three hours in a row in about a week, and it's getting a bit frustrating. I'll get sorted out eventually. Thanks again. :)

What's not bad?

JanneE was referring to Trix's entry today, but it was in the poems thread. I moved the post here and sent JanneE a pm about it, since 30/30 is a poems-only thread. I was hoping JanneE would get a chance to expand on the comment if he or she wanted, so at least people would know which poem the comment was for, but that hasn't happened yet. Sorry for any confusion.

Ahhh... well, that clears that up. :)

Thanks for understanding. :)

Got any ideas yet today? I'm tired and drawing blanks. And it's only day 5. Lol. I'm listening to music trying to find a song and pottering about the shadow poetry site, trolling for inspiration.

For some reason, when I'm feeling a bit stuck, things that make me count syllables seem to work for me. Not that they bring out my best poetry, but they help me get something written, which is the only goal I have some days.

I'm tinkering with some bits and pieces I jotted down in the wee hours of the morning, though I don't really feel it coming together. I may end up counting syllables again later today. :)

Being tired isn't helpful, and I've been nothing but for over a week now. Hmm... perhaps, I could just make insomnia my theme for the rest of the challenge. ;)

Shadow Poetry has been very helpful for me the last couple of weeks.

heh when I get lost for words I pull out thesaurus or dictionary ...open to a random page and find a word that I like the sound of ...or the definition of and try to build a poem around it :p ...

PS thanks for the link Ange to that shadow poetry sight ...wonderful place lots of info there!

Thanks guys. :) I'm taking a break for a while (aka procrastinating!). Something will come to me. Callie, I use the discipline of forms, too, when I'm pressed for ideas. The restrictions of the forms are actually helpful to me then. Go figure.

Sin, I should be saying this in the Let's Hear It thread but your poem there is so good. It's powerful writing; it really is. There are a few misspelling and little things that imo you could fix, but the bones of that poem are strong!

:rose:s

I am very flattered :) ...will have to go double check ...as apparently I missed it! ...sleep deprivation does that kinda stuff! ...heh if you get bored procrastinating feel free to PM me or something if you like! ...wrote that piece that morning ...wasn't to sure about it ...figured it would be considered well a little on the weird side :p

It is a little weird, but weird can be very good in poetry, right? :D

I'll read the poem again and send you some feedback later. After I figure out my poem for the day!

Poetcrastinating. :D

And, I am doing that, too. Think I'll tinker around with the piano for a while, see if it helps clear my head.

GP, I'm quite taken with your Ice Storm, it evokes a particular memory for me, which just adds to it's loveliness.
