3 things about me

Me too, Honey! There's just something sexy about them... so far the fascination with them has not over-ridden the fear, however.

:D

Getting it done isn't what hurts. It's the 6 weeks of healing that comes afterwards that's a bitch. Not to mention, the scar isn't fun after it's removed...especially if you get pregnant afterwards. But it does get tons of attention and men can't seem to get enough.

I've never once seen a belly button and thought yeah it's nice but it would be much hotter with a piece of metal in it.

maybe you'd better check to be doubly sure. :D
want to strip search me sweet thing?

I have a scar on my tummy from an operation over 50 years ago.

Sometimes, even after all that time, it becomes irritated and inflamed. Same goes for the bullet scar.

It makes me wonder why anyone would want to have a voluntary scar.

If you have doubts. don't do it. It's permanent.

I can relate. Does yours ever get itchy? That's the worst, imo.

and NO, the belly button ring scar doesn't itch. it's too tiny and not that big a deal, but i know it's there.

10- I'm on my way out the door to have an echocardiogram done, to see if the doctor can figure out the cause of my painful palpitations
11- I was supposed to start my period yesterday, but haven't - this makes me worry, inevitably, but it vaguely a good thing because I only got around to putting panties on just now (3 pm)
12- I'm always late for appointments, and this looks like it will be no different

yes, well, I think they are soo sexy - I love the ones that sit in the belly button itself -- the gem looking ones.....I tried my 4 year old niece's stick on ones (you know the ones that go on their ears if they are not pierced!) just not the same effect and it get getting shifted.....

more things:

Yes, I am a goofball -- (Thanks Lucky!!!!)
I don't drink milk unless it's in coffee
I have a panty fetish

Porsche, you may have a thyroid problem....I had palpitations, my period was infrequent and I lost weight -- I went for an echocardiogram which told me I was having palpitations!! HELLO -- Go to your gyno and have a blood test taken -- this will probably tell you whether your levels (thyroid levels) are too high - which will result in hyperthyrodism...Good Luck

As far as the belly-button piercing goes....

I wore mine all the way through my last pregnancy, and delivery - it caused no problems whatsoever, although my doctor did get a kick out of it. It DOES itch somewhat while it's healing, and the impulse to play with it is there for awhile, but as long as you keep it scrupulously clean, that shouldn't be a problem either (dial soap 4 or 5 times a day). Mine healed pretty quickly, and even when I don't wear anything in it for awhile, the scar isn't really noticeable. And yes, men are absolutely fascinated by it!

Not all men are obsessed with belly piercings, y'know.. Of course, I'm a self-confessed ass man, so that might have something to do with it.

Raphy, who has no opinion on them one way or the other.

From a man with an opinion: They are in the way of nibbling and kissing. Navels are sexy. Don't clutter them up, girls.

On the other hand I find jewellery in general pretty unsexy. Unless sparse, removable and tasteful.

Yeah... I'm pretty sure that's what made them dramatically worse for about three months. As far as I could tell it was caused by my inhaler for my asthma. It's an iodine-based medication, and iodine is what "runs" your thyroid. I had others symtoms other hyperthyroidism; period irregularity and weight loss like you mentioened. The weight loss was SCARY because it coincided with being on an antidepressant which can (and did, in my case) have the side effect of weight loss. So I lost like 30 pounds or so in a month!!

Anyhow, long story not very short, I stopped using my inhaler (and now have a prescription for a preventative, so no asthma worries) and the thyroid problems ceased... except that I still get the palpitations, way less often. Once a week is still too often though. Also, palpitations were a problem before the thyroid issue, so I think it's likely that there is another problem.

Thanks for the info though; if I hadn't figured it out already it woulda been a big help, LOL! :)

They can be a bit of a hassle for a while, cos when u start getting jiggy and stuff, it can hurt.

I thought I had the same problem until I found out all the symptoms were depression. Once I got on the meds, things straightened out.
Hope all works well for you.

I wasn't trying to insinuate that all men could appreciate piercings and such. In my case, the motivation came purely from my husband who was madly fascinated with them and really got amped up when I had mine done. Sure, I made the choice and did it, but it wasn't really for my benefit.

And more often than not, the compliments or interest I received was from the male side. I don't care one way or the other, but sort of wish I'd never had mine done as there is a little scar there now. :(

I think men find it interesting and sexy - women tend to wonder if it hurts!!

The scars can be sexy to some people ---- I have one that runs down the center of my stomach from an appendice operation when I was 15.....starts at my belly button, I consider it a path down to my better half........

I think a lot of women like scarred men. Makes it seem like they're fighting types (rather than clumsy people got a booboo from the swing when they were kids  )

thanks for saying that, I have one just the same from an emergency C-section and I've been hating it, now I have a new perspective on it....maybe.
