I was gratified to hear Kamala Harris reiterate her support for Israel in her acceptance speech tonight. First she confirmed her support for Ukraine. I murmured to my husband “now do Israel” and she did! She also specifically called out the horrors of October 7th!

She also called out for self-determination for Palestine and the need for a ceasefire now rather than later.
I thought she struck a good balance there, not an easy thing to do.
One thing is for sure: if she's serious about both Israel and Palestine, that spells the end of Netanyahu's "perpetual war" initiative and likely the end of his political career.
This, IMHO, is a good thing.

P.S. If Israel elects hardliner miscreants Bezalel Smotrich or Benny Gantz as the next Israeli Prime Minister, the people of Israel will be sending a clear, unambiguous message to the world that Israel is not serious about peace in the Middle East. Those jacknapes are worse than Netanyahu. Both are mini-Trumps, as opposed to Netanyahu's clueless mini-Dubya.

I watched that last night, and the conversation that followed it. Yes, just 8 'undecideds', but no-one came out and straight up said afterwards how out of that 8 the minds of 6 were convinced enough by Harris' speech to vote for her! 75% (right?, 3/4's?) That's HUGE imho. Yes, 1 decided she didn't do enough so will vote for trump and another remained undecided, but 6 out of 8 ain't bad, it's great!

Yeah yeah, I know that a lot of these if not all were UAW workers so perhaps some predispositions there (or at least an openness to be persuaded) that may not translate directly to a wider population of 'undecideds', but it is very very hopeful.

I’ve been watching things closely, and it has become apparent that the major hangup in the ceasefire is the Philadelphi corridor.

It has also become apparent that Hamas and Egypt are holding out on a ceasefire deal to maintain the terrorism related smuggling operation from Egypt into Gaza.

I do not support any ceasefire agreement that cedes the Philidelphi corridor to Hamas (or any international security force sympathetic to Hamas).

Hamas must be starved of resources so the Palestinian civilians can get out from under Hamas rule and Israel can get out from under the constant terror threat Hamas poses.
