Now that it's 2024, I have a slight hangover. LOL.

Seriously, let's get down to business. In 2023 I published 26 times here. I got and lost only 2 Red Hs but that's whatever in my book. I was embroiled in controversy and responded to it.

From a literary point of view, I experimented with different things I wanted to try for a long time. I will continue to innovate in the new year. I have just published Gauntlet 8 and will publish 9 by the end of the month.

What about you? Happy New Year.

Published 15 times(16 if you count the one that's been pending for the last two weeks) About 220K words. Explored some dark places I usually don't go, F/NC, and probably won't go back. I made a bunch of new friends when I found this forum, and, oh, yeah, won a fricking Reader's Choice award. Now that was cool. :)

Published 46 stories, one how-to, and five poems.
Most viewed: “My Naked Wife and Her Female Student”— 43.2k.
Most favorited: also “My Naked Wife…”
Highest rated: “Nude Therapy: Phase 02”— 4.77.
Most comments: “My Female Boss and the CMNF Party”— eight.
27 of 46 stories are currently Hot. I have one or two that like to dance at 4.49.
Already published in 2024.

I started publishing here in July and have 65 entries, but that's somewhat misleading. One was a standalone short story of 5k words, twelves were chapters of a short novel of about 70k words, and the rest short serialized chapters of a longer novel of about 170k words. So, oddly enough, that means that my 65 entries would cover almost exactly 65 'Lit pages' if they were all glommed together.
I don't think I get a lot of views, at least certainly not compared to the writers who feel comfortable bragging about their readerships, and I turned off voting after a while because I didn't care for the creative angst it caused me. A few people have commented to tell me they would have given things a 5, and a few have complained that they weren't allowed to give something a 1. I'm comfortable at trading the slight ego boost from the former to deny the latter, though.

2023 was probably my best year ever. I published five stories, all of which got good ratings, one of which, my Halloween story, I personally see as kind of a flop. But If Only In My Dreams was my most viewed and commented story ever, and Queen of the Roller Derby is my highest rated.

I received two Reader's Choice Awards for my 2022 stories, and If Only In My Dreams won the Winters Holiday contest.

Wild Birds of Maine (Pink Orchid Challenge) 4.86

Queen of the Roller Derby 4.92

Abby and the Outlaws (Crime and Punishment Challenge) 4.83

Watchers (Halloween Contest) 4.64

If Only in My Dreams (Winter Holidays contest) 4.87

Published 8 stories, 7 of which were all part of the same series. Started out my Drowning at Dusk series with the intent of it being a short-ish fantasy series to get my writing mojo back, and ended up becoming something a bit more. That gave me the confidence I needed to finish off Duchess of Lust (which was in limbo for over 5 years, and will be submitted later this month).

Took a chance and wrote something sillier/more romantic than usual for the holiday contest, and people really liked it (lots of views/ratings/favs, and a 4.87 rating).

All of my submissions have great ratings but fewer viewers than I'd like, but I know that will tick up with time.

I published only six stories, so it was a weak year in terms of total production, but I had fun with them and tried some new things. I published stories in a new category, Humor. One year ago today I published my goofball mock-tandem BTB spoof story Cuckolds and Incels. In May I published four stories: a mom-son incest with a "biblical" twist, two stories about hot wife Mrs. Pillsbury, and an exhibitionist satire Reasonable Accommodation. I didn't publish again until October, when I published Darkling Tower, an erotic horror tale that placed in the Halloween contest. It wasn't a prolific year, but it was satisfying in some ways.

I made substantial progress on quite a number of ongoing stories, some of which I hope to publish this year.

What about you? Happy New Year.
Getting re-acquainted with the Literotica forums, especially AH, has been game changing for me. I'd published stories here, but was too confused by the user interface to get involved in the forums. When I finally sorted that out I was overwhelmed by the number of people who were actually willing to talk about stuff. I'd been on a search since very early 2021 to find out where I was positioned in the world of erotica. Thanks to you all I've gotten much more clarity in the last few months than I had in the last three years.

Thank you!!!
And Happy New Year!!!

46 stories published (including one story with 5 chapters and one - incomplete one - with 2 so far - so I guess you could argue for 41 being the true number).

Of those, 26 Hs. Two didn’t have ratings enabled (not stories, but accompanying text). Two were LW suicide missions. Two were NC/R suicide missions. And five are annoyingly in the 4.48 to 4.49 range.

I also wrote my longest and most ambitious story, Heaven & Hole. I also received my highest ever ratings.

So a good year all in all.

I wrote a bunch of stories. People read them, and mostly enjoyed them - even 1P present tense and 2P POV. I had fun writing, and I had fun reading the stories to my wife. I spent too much time hanging out in the Hangout, but that was fun as well.

More of the same for 2024, I hope.

18 stories published in total. More than I thought actually, since my writing has slowed down considerably.

Met some good friends, wrote some fun collaborations I'm sure you're all tired of hearing about 😆.

Had some really successful stories and some that went nowhere despite my thinking they were my best work.

Even managed to get one published on the last day of the year.

Trying to decide what's up next for my first of 2024.

I began 2023 with a little 4 x 750 Word experiment, four inter-changing chapters which demonstrated that, No, Virginia, readers don't much like a single 750 word story (but writers do), but yes, you can in fact pull up decent scores with short chapters, because 2/4 are in the 4.6s. Really, thought, it was an exactly 3000 word story told with tight discipline, in four parts. And Brooke in my studio (which I finally got finished, which partly explains the slow writing).

I've started a novella which I hope to get finished for this year's Pink Orchid, having started it just as the 2023 Orchid collection closed. I've progressed a second part of my angel and astronaut on Titan story, which was meant to get into the 2020 Geek Anthology, but there you see how deadlines and I don't get along. Similarly, I'm into my sequel for the 2022 Mickey Spillane collection...

Because that was three deadlines missed, I had a fabulous time Shaving Jenny, who is possibly my sassiest character, currently with a 4.78. Around the same time I accidentally discovered that another fetish story had got as high as #43 on the All-Time Fetish story list, which was pretty satisfying, since I hadn't even known it was there.

I changed cafés, and met Emma and Bobbie. Their first story ran very nicely in Mature, but the 4th chapter, even with Taylor Swift in the title, not so well over in Anal. I don't care, I've got another one pager about to be submitted. Emma goes skating.

And I wrote a free form poem, which a proper poet liked.

I think I had a pretty good year. Did five 750-word stories, none of which broke 4.0, but my style tends to not do well after pruning for 750; most of the comments amounted to "Well?" or "Is there more?"

The hit was the "Barstow" series, about a chance autumn/spring meeting between two swinger couples in the middle of the Mojave Desert, a meeting that blossomed into a long-term commitment with swinger fun around every corner. All but one out of ten (so far!) is >4.5, and that one is only suffering from two 2-bombs that apparently don't get "swept".

Then, just maybe that one story "deserved" the two low scores because I was dissin' "The South" quite a bit from having lived there. ;)

I had a good year in 2023, with writing, with Jo, with our son, and earning money. I can't complain about anything to do with me. My folks year was a bit more painful. Both them are having health issues, Mum had the worst of it. Dad's refusal to give in to pain, caused him issues from not seeking help. But I'm hopeful they both will have a better year this year. Next Monday Donnie starts going to four hours of day care weekdays. I'm so not looking forward that. Honesty, I'll have those four hours to write which might mean I can sleep more, but that point, the 5 or 6 hours I sleep at night is more than enough. I know it will be good for him, not so much for me.

I had a whopping three stories posted in 2023 - but call it four, one got stuck in pending in the last couple weeks and I was too busy over the holidays to mess with it. Despite that anemic output, though, I feel like I wrote a lot. A lot of nonerotica, a lot of promising starts to stories I'll continue working on in 2024. Here's to more output in 2024.

Great year for me writing. Got back into it after a long break. Started publishing on AO3 as well as here. Filled in a lot of my ficverse's backstory and did some critically acclaimed stand alone stuff too. Got high praise for old and new works. Hoping to receive more in due time.

I published 7, compared to 10 in 2022. But I was able to make the majority of stories Red Hs. While I know it doesn't matter, I feel like its sort of a validation for me since this is the first place Ive really published stories.

I think I gained a direction and understanding of where I need to go in 2023, as opposed to 2022 just being lost in the sauce of writing and how to go about it here on Lit.

44 stories published since the summer (if you count each "chapter" as an individual story) - And out of those, 30 have red H's. Did acceptable in the competitions I entered as well.

My Sweet Melody from the Summer Lovin' - my first competition - sits at 4,71.

Anal Princess of the Autumn was my Halloween entry - sits at 4,76. (Technically wrote two stories; the other sits at 4,68)

The (un)Lucky Girl for the Winter Holiday competition - currently at 4,78.

Managed to be the number 1 story of "all time" in one category for about a day or two, before that story dropped to 4,85.

Experimented with a ton of different styles, categories, fetishes, challenges, and so on. Even let the readers decide the course for two lengthy series. Most importantly, I think my English improved a little bit. That was my goal. And I met some people here on the forums and through PM's and Feedback that I would now consider friends. 💙

Wow that is a great amount of effort! I envy that drive! :)

2023:

One Literotica Award nomination (Incest Story)

Across my Lit. accounts, I've posted 87 entries in 2023. 72 separate stories.

Ehh... not much. One contest submission...? Started a new story, started finishing another one. Like I said before; the Red H's I got were the highlight of, really, the past two or so years. I started this account and got one story out so far.
