Yeah, I’m guessing this won’t apply to the ads on the site, lol.

Dead, how? There aren't that many Illustrated stories, but they often do incredibly well in terms of views. Readers obviously like them. HeyAll should chime in here, because he has figured this out and been very successful with these stories. There's obviously a big market for them.
I am curious how this change will affect the already existing illustrated stories. For example, I know that silkstockingslover, the most popular author on the site by far, has dozens of illustrated stories that feature explicit art (such as from the artist Rebecca). I mean, I don't see those stories working without said art, so I don't imagine Jasmine will be happy about this change. They get lots of views largely because there's less and they stay on the Hub for a long time. A story that gets 30,000 on the first day will get over 100,000 views in a month.
Many people want the pics. That's why there are lots of stories with 100,000 views and 10 favorites.
But the good ones will get a lot of views favorites and comments about the story.
The one place where it's difficult to avoid people next to you seeing nudes on the phone screen is with avatars. I totally agree about one's ability to visit visually oriented forums in comfortable environments.I do. The status quo provides many ways for users to avoid nude images if their virgin eyes simply cannot stand it.
Interesting topic for discussion. When does nudity become porn? When does porn, by definition, not have artistic value? It's more about reading through a thread and, suddenly, there's a porn video or a pic that shouldn't be here anyway. Of course you can report it, but it's a bit late for that.
If I want to view porn, I'll go to a porn site...not a Lit Erotica site.
As for nudity embedded in AVs and Sigs, those can already be disabled as well.
I must say that I've certainly never been asked for feedback. What I'm concerned about is who exactly has provided "overwhelmingly positive feedback" and whether or not they represent the majority of Lit users (either on the forum side or the story side) or if this group of feedback senders (which, by the way, I do not ever remember seeing any public indication that I was allowed to join it or be part of it or whatever) is designed for the sole purpose of being yes-people and/or were "randomly" selected because they'd agree with a certain agenda.
Now THAT'S what I would like to disable!!!!! I can never log on to Lit until I'm sure family members are not in the near vicinity. An interesting paradox is that Literotica stories have webcam banners/ads at the top of each page.
How do you do that? Not that I want to; I'm taking screen shots of some favored nude avatars. But I'm curious as to how one disables nude avatars?
Yes! That's what I'd like to see removed, or at least make it disable-able. I can't log on to Lit until I'm sure now one is in the vicinity of my computer. Once I'm in, I feel pretty much in control.Stikes me as utterly pointless while the web cam ads still scroll across the top of the story pages.
Schoolgirls anyone???Everybody who keeps saying "The banner ads!": Find a nude image in them.
( I have come across one with bare breasts, and a couple of questionable butts/bodypainting, but to say it's rare is an overstatement. )
99.99% of the images in the banner ads comply with this new policy, and are in line with what gets approved for series covers/header images. I suspect the ones that don't are probably in violation of the cam site's headshot policy and won't last long. There would be nudes everywhere if they weren't restricted from doing so.
Not arguing this is a good idea, but trying to use the banner ads as an example just doesn't work. They're overwhelmingly in compliance.
It doesn't have to be nude to be something you definitely don't want friends and colleagues to see over your shoulder.Everybody who keeps saying "The banner ads!": Find a nude image in them.

Yuuuuup! If a call for no nudity on lit is happening I'd love to see some filtration of the advertisers you use that violate the policies you wish to enforce. Or... Maybe, you know, let people take the risk with going onto a porn site and let them manage their own phones and content. While some form of regulation is okay, I don't know if this new approach is it.An interesting paradox is that Literotica stories have webcam banners/ads at the top of each page.
Might be nice to release some type of survey before making big changes to see what a majority of the users actually believe.I must say that I've certainly never been asked for feedback.
Game, set, and match!Schoolgirls anyone???
There's a little close x under the banner add where you can hit the x to close it. But it is rather annoying to have to click it for every story. On the upside at least you only have to click it once per story, as you go through the pages of the story it stays closed. Now THAT'S what I would like to disable!!!!! I can never log on to Lit until I'm sure family members are not in the near vicinity.
I've never seen the game ads pop up until today. LOL More of those out of compliance for certain. Typically nipples on one or two in every banner.Schoolgirls anyone???
If the impetus for the change is reducing things on the front page that make the site more NSFW and make it hard for people to look at the site on the phone, having a bunch of racy photos - even if they aren't completely nude - immediately draws the eye of the casual observer.Everybody who keeps saying "The banner ads!": Find a nude image in them.

Yeah, I don't completely buy the reasoning either, but the majority of them don't violate the reported guidelines or the examples available in places where it's already in force. A censor "pastie" over nipples is all that's necessary to get a cover image for a series approved, for example. If the impetus for the change is reducing things on the front page that make the site more NSFW and make it hard for people to look at the site on the phone, having a bunch of racy photos - even if they aren't completely nude - immediately draws the eye of the casual observer.
More than once my SO has seen me checking the site and asked what I was looking at because of those ads. If its necessary to nuke all nudity from the site, then the ads need to go, too.
I suspect you're right, but it's would be nice to see a clear statement saying if that's the case. The crusade against adult sites by moral monitors threatening hosts and legislatures making unmanageable age-verification laws probably has as much to do with it as anything. Getting rid of images manages a whole lot of risk for very little downside.
