S Korea subway fire kills 120

Some 120 people have been killed and many others injured in a fire on an underground train in the South Korean city of Daegu.
Authorities say firefighters have reached two burnt-out carriages of the train containing the remains of about 70 people, which is in addition to the 50 or so bodies already recovered.

"The bodies were all in a state of being difficult to identify"
Cho Hae-nyong, Daegu mayor

In addition to those confirmed dead, between 70 and 100 people are reported to be missing and more than 100 people have been injured, officials said.

Hmmm. It might be a bad idea to overcrowd your subway trains, particularly when one of the passengers is a looney toon.

It notes the vunerability...

Of a free society where people assume total safety over reasonable safety. The fact that a loon with a flammable device can kill so many, underscores the reality of safety and security. We could put cameras on every corner, in your home etc.. but, if the intent to do harm is there, all that's left is to find your victims.
The need for awareness in our everyday lives, cannot be ignored. This stuff will happen now and then.
It is a tragedy, but one that could not be prevented no matter how many safeguards are out there.

The same applies for deliberate terrorism.

Of coarse we care. The loss of human life is tragic. Especially in a way such as this.
What do you want us to say?
It's absolutely fucked up.
