There has already been a 10 best thread (which I replied to, with the right answer, of course. :) ), so I thought a 10 worst thread was appropriate.

A couple of guidelines:

1. Any show nominated should have been on for at least one season.
2. Any show nominated should be bad, not just one that someone dislikes.

I'll start it off -

Love Boat
A-Team
Knight Rider
(There were a lot of popular but bad shows in the early 1980s).

Baywatch (The Hoff was in many bad shows)

How I Met Your Mother (never understood why this was called a comedy)
Renegade
Enterprise (Actually, I didn't think the show was that bad. Then the finale happened. Worst ep of any show, ever.)

Lost
Heroes
Supermarket Sweep

the lawrence welk show

family affair

bowling for dollars (anyone remember that?)

"The Masked Singer."

"The Voice."

"The Bachelorette."

That new one, that's like the Masked Singer only with computer generated avatars.

"Dancing with the Stars." (Funny how so many of these are relatively current- is there a pattern here?)

"The Lawrence Welk Show" was pretty bad but still better than any of the above.

Or, that stupid invention one. Guys invent the wierdest crap and actually think people will invest money in their goofy buisness venture. But for some reason they always do anyway! For example, "Chia Pet Sweaters. Who wouldnt want to invest millions in our buisness?" Yeah, well as they say... "I'm Out."

fucking "Poldark." Crappy PBS soap opera show- they took Doctor Who off of PBS in favor of this???

"Heroes" was pretty dumb, but television back then was overall much better than today, with out all of that "Dancing with the Masked Batchlorette Voice" garbage we got stuck with now.

"Wall Street Week." Because it was just a couple boring old hacks sitting around talking about the stock market, which only a handful of equally boring people would actually find interesting.

Any show that touts it reality yet still has a script. That should encompass at least 100 pieces of shit that are on or have been on the networks.

Perfect example of the above: "Alaskan Bush People."

Which is still on the air, despite the fact that most of the goofball kids are either married now or in rehab... and they don't even live in Alaska anymore!

the lawrence welk show

Funny thing about Welk -- he talked like some kinda furriner, but he actually grew up in Strasburg, North Dakota -- a town where everybody spoke German; he only learned English in school.

what was that show where a family had a blond robot daughter? was alan thicke in it? whatever, it was one of the most horrible in history.

small wonder and no, alan thicke was not in it.

but edie mcclurg was. think the secretary in ferris beuller's day off.

And she was brunette.

So, y'all forgot Manimal, CPO Sharkey, My Mother The Car and so many others?

It wasn't- but Archie Bunker was a douche, and said all kinds of Renard Rusesque things that pissed people off (even back then) and that wouldn't really fly in the current era of TV.

i also can't stand that b positive show, but that's mainly because i think thomas middleditch is a cunt.

because he is.

anyway, makes it kinda hard to enjoy the show.

Could they broadcast All In The Family now? No, but a lot of shows that were popular in the 70s couldn't make it now (e.g. - Barney Miller). To be fair, many shows that were/are popular now wouldn't have made it in the 70s (e.g. - Two Broke Girls).

All In The Family was cutting edge for its time, and the Archie Bunker character, while a bigot, and yes, a douche, was never portrayed as being right. He was usually portrayed as the butt of the gag.
