There was an interesting retrospective on NPR this morning. One of the interviews was with Khruschev's son about his recollections of Soviet mood when Iosej Vissarianovich died. They also interviewed the son of a couple who each were given "tenners" and five years internal exile.

Ironically, each man is now a professor in the US (one at George Mason, one at Brown) and a US citizen.
