🧘🏼‍♂️🤾🏻‍♀️Getting Sweaty Again: The 3rd Circuit 🚴🏼‍♂️🏋🏼‍♀️

Hello Sweaters -

I didn’t realize that my threads would disappear when I left. I’m really sorry that all of our posts are gone. But never fear, hopefully we can revive what we had in the other threads in this one.

So, where are you on your fitness journey?

I am sort of taking stock of where I am now, and where I want to be so that I can make a clear goal. My vague goals are to: build strength, tone, and find something that I enjoy doing on a regular basis. I feel like I’m starting from square 1 after these last couple of crazy years. So it’s time to

Grab your workout partner, or if you don’t have one just hang out with us in here and we can do this together. Or maybe it’ll just be me in here talking to myself which would be ok too.

What are you going to do TODAY? Are you already in a routine that you like? Are you taking that first step? What’s your fitness status update?

Chest and triceps on Monday, back and biceps on Tuesday, shoulders on Wednesday legs on Thursday. Three days of rest after those four days. I need my strength on the weekend so that I can keep my beautiful wife satisfied.

A few things while I've been on a workout hiatus while in recovery:

I've heard the phrases "internal adjustment" and "internal steroid injections" too many times in reference to my ass.

It's really hard to not shake my ass or dance in general while listening to music at home.

These are my dislocated tailbone woes. 🤣

Carry on! Happy hump day, Sweaters.

Just a quick thank you to everyone who gave me advice and encouragement the other week.
I finally had a win battling my anxiety and yesterday I went to a gym, had a look round and became a member.
Tomorrow I'm going in to try a pilates class and next week I'm booked in for group cycling and I'll go from there once I see how I feel afterwards.
Maybe I'm underestimating my current abilities or maybe I'll get there and pass out after 10 mins 🤣 but either way I can adjust once I've tried a couple of things and go from there
Awesome Rosie. Go for it. Figure out what works and what doesn’t. But that’s cool you are taking the first steps and going for it. 💪

I need someone to tell me to stop playing in the sunshine and go lift the heavy things in the dark basement.

Why not combine them together…..heavy things in the sun.

Exactly....that! I'm definitely doing everything in the sun today.....well activity wise

I usually lift weights in my basement, but on one glorious day last year, I moved weights into my back yard and worked out there. 😁

I highly recommend it. (Not sure if my neighbors would agree though.🤣🤣🤣)

I love the idea but dragging the long bar, rack, and bench outside feels a bit excessive. 😅
I did what @mobleedzblue is suggesting.

I didn’t move my bench, but I did bring up my long bar, plate-loaded dumbbells, and some plates. Instead of my usual routines, I focused on overhead lifts (that don’t work so well in my basement) and actually practiced some Olympic lifts.

I’ve recently moved a bar into my garage for the higher ceiling to practice snatch for my first competition this month. Tiny link to photo in case anyone cares to see…

This is awesome news and a great step forward! Good on ya'

You’re so creative, I’m sure you could think of some work arounds.

I agree though, moving an entire set outside is excessive. I’m thinking just a few dumbbells and maybe a plate or two.

There is nothing like the feel of the sunshine, regardless of what you are doing, it helps to get a sweat going

I did the things. Whew.. all trembly now. Thanks for the encouragement and maybe I'll drag the free weights outside next time.

And good luck next month, @curl4ever !

I just finished the things outside, a bit extra sweaty but a beautiful breeze coming across the yard. Definitely trembling now.

Also, moving the weight out of the basement and back to the basement should count as part of my workout right?? 😂

I’m taking off work for a couple days - unlike me, but I was going to go postal if I didn’t- and I’m going to the mountains for a yoga retreat. There’s also hiking, massage, walking a labyrinth, meditation, and “assisted stretching”.

Do I do much yoga? Nope! But what the hell? I’ll be in the mountains. That’s the important thing.

Anybody been on a yoga retreat before? How much Advil should I bring? ;-)

That sounds incredible. The mountains are my happy place too.

I tend to be more at home by the ocean, but this was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up. I was talking about how badly I needed to get away from everything, and this spot opened up. When things like that happen, I need to listen. 🏔️ ⛰️
Yes, take advantage if you can. Hope you have a great and relaxing time.

This sounds amazing.

Relax and enjoy it all!
