Sharing here for relevance:

Folks leaving here and going to Discord, Telegram, Signal, etc… Keep your guards up for catfish and scammers. There are some definite red flags being waved.

Story time: Once upon a time, a faction of the GB was upset with Lit and started their own site (called “Dryer Lint,” yes really). What started as a Litopia, free of all the things they didn’t like about Lit, definitely did not last. Because people are people and green grass isn’t always green.

Folks, there have been many active scammer accounts recently, including one that created their account today.

If it seems too good to be true, it probably is. If they want you to go to another site (especially Telegram, WhatsApp, or Zangi - these seem to be the most common here lately), keep your guard up. The one today is using social engineering tactics to convince people to give them social media log-in information. “She” shares information, too, like a trust exercise. And “her” login will supposedly give access to photos and videos. But, too late, you’ll have given your login info to a scammer.

I’m going to bump this thread whenever I think we might have an active scammer. Feel free to bump it yourself.

I’ll post usernames when reports are coming in with details that prove the suspicion.

I get the accounts banned as quickly as I can, but it’s not instant. Please be cautious.

This one has been online and posted more personal ads since being called out here (the ads have been removed). All of the ads direct you to contact them on other sites, including Zangi which is often used for romance scams. Do not fall for the scam!
