If you ever go to Germany don't try "Chain grease". This is a liqueur made from aniseed and liquorice. It'll either give you hair on your chest or kill you. I can do without both for myself.

When and where did you try that unique drink? I have only seen and tried it in one place…. tried it once and couldn’t come up with a better description for it than yours.

I only had it in Hamburg in a bar full of supporters of the St. Pauli football club - not sure, how I ended there, but me and my friends definitely stuck out - not looking like hooligans (but all super friendly guys)
