- When did you guys get rid of it?

There has been talks on and off for as long as I remember, to get rid of it.. but.. as it is the traditional day to do most of the Konfirmationer down here, I do not really see it happening

Some were around 1658 I think as a part on trying to throw all the Danish traditions out, when the Swedish won the war.
We do have what's called Tacksägelsedagen but that's an ordinary Sunday and pass totally unnoticed.

Also... Well, you won that war.. I guess.. We won some of the others.. I mean.. with all those wars (seriously.. were they really necessary.. if those old people knew how close we would be afterwards..)..

Also, it is funny.. but I feel a closer cultural and historical closeness with you and your region, than I do with for instance Sønderjylland and Vestjylland.. Nordjylland seems rather close to us.. due to all the guldalder painters travelling there..

But in my daily life.. Your region feels so much closer!

I've always felt more at home in Copenhagen than in Stockholm. I mean I love Stockholm, but I've alway felt like a tourist there and I don't feel like that in Copenhagen.

And yes!!! The bridge truly did change everything, suddenly Malmö is no more than a 30 minutes drive from my doorstep.. Lund equally close!
In comparison.. take Fyn.. it is 1,5 hours drive (if there is no traffic jam.. there is always a traffic jam..) .. Aarhus.. 3,5 hours, Esbjerg.. Not even sure.. 5-6 hours.. Ålborg.. mind-blowing 6-7 hours.. - going over the other bridge, I can drive to some really decent skiing places in Sweden instead..

Also.. yeah, I too feel like a tourist when going west.. and I do not feel like that in your region.
- I would in Stockholm!

Do not get me wrong, I love Stockholm!! It is a truly beautiful city!!! But the dialect is a bit different.. and, they tend to be a bit competitive, when they hear that I am not only Danish.. But from Copenhagen (luckily.. I can mostly get by with my Swedish ).
