Day 19 - Song that inspires you
lyrics are about a man who is different and struggling to find his way to a better life but encounters troubles along the way.
Also a bad ass vampire intimidation song
One, outstanding film. Two, villain songs are the best. I love a good villain song, and "The Rocky Road to Dublin" is among my favorite traditional Irish songs. Three, it fit the character so well, especially as his souther accent started slipping. Four, and final, the way that scene build is just fantastic.

Day 20: A song from the 2000s

I didn’t hear the song till 2011 or 12. Driving with a friend to the races in Connecticut and he played this whole album. I was pretty much slack-jawed, listening to the whole record.

Day 21: A song that gives you goosebumps

How about some psychedelic Anatolian rock from Turkey? It’s pretty amazing remake of an old Turkish folk song.

Untouchable Face β˜† Ani DeFranco

Because it's so damn true

My love and admiration for Ani had no bounds. I love this song, and I love it more live. The studio version comes off very earnest and angsty, but the live recording, and I really like the version on Living in Clip, has a distance, and a humor to it, like an old story told to friends over drinks -- one that still aches, but not bleeds. Just a fantastic song, and far too relatable.

I get that feeling often with music, especially if emotions are running high. It is usually classical, often piano. But it can be anything from electronica with rumbling bass to soaring voices, choral, soundtracks, pop music, rock ballads.. genre doesn't seem to matter and I haven't found any connection other than that they create that somatic response. And it doesn't happen every time I hear the song. *Shrug*

This song found me a few months ago and immediately created frisson. Since it's the most recent discovery, I'll share it.

Another Love - Tom Odell
