I looked through the sticky and did not see this one but I was wondering if any one has it done. Basicly the entire did it hurt, how bad and jow long does it take to heal. Also if it's true that it will bleed nonstop and really bad for two days...

Thanks!

I know this has been discussed in here several times. Try doing a search, and you should come up wih a bunch of answers. :)

no, it's not too bad - all pain is relative... the more you want it done, the less it will hurt.
it feels like a bad beesting for about 2 seconds, then it's over as soon as the jewelry is in place.
your nipples will 'throb' for a few days, and you might be uncomfortable without a bra for the first week - but that varies between people.
they do not bleed nonstop - only for an hour or two, and only a 'seep' until the holes cover - much like any other wound.
nipples can take up to 12 months to completely heal, but they're 'usable ' after about 6 weeks.

Absolutely,

I have both of mine done, then I got them stretched. Let me tell you what a pain Hell ride that is... for about a minute or so.

It's like a numbing euphoric blanket pain as opposed to a 'sharp' pain.

And that took about 9-10 months to fully heal.

I don't regret it, It's all good :p

O

I'm not sure if i could handle the pain part and then what I heard about the bleeding scares me

WQ,

I'm going to assume its similar for men and women, and what do you mean by "usable"?

By 12 months to completely heal, what do you mean by that? What do you consider completely healed?
What precautions, extra care do you have to do to them till then?

usable refers to when you can confidently have a play with them, and know that the chances of giving yourself an infection are extremely remote.

completely healed refers to when the entire piercing channel has healed over with sealed skin, because until then the skin in the piercing is really fragile and easily irritated/broken, meaning you can damage it and delay healing.

Make sure you go to a good piercer, and if the option is avaiable... get them both done at the same time (if you want both that is)

I made the mistake of being a guini pig for a beginner ... poor guy had to start somewhere right? ::sigh:: well, it dosen't have to start with you.

(the jewerly wasn't put on the needle correctly, it got stuck... wiggling jewerly through freshly cut nerve endings IS NOT FUN) So the real guy stepped in did it in a snap and all was well.)

It was a bitch to heal because of the mistake.... took alot longer then they told me.

long story stort - ask the piercer how many nipples he/she has done beforehand.

ouch!
sorry you had a bad experience.

i use IV needles with a canula - not the other 'push-through' piercing needles.
that way, i can pierce, remove the needle leaving the canula in place, and thread the jewelry through the canula.

less pain and problems all round.

those sound quite nice.

I had to deal with the clamp/hollow needle deal.

Poor kid was so nervous,

"er.. lets.. uh, prepare the area.. and.. uh.. can you, er.. help.. see.. I ... yea... thanks..."

Its been 3 years just about and I'm thinking of taking it out - bc I don't know if I could deal with the healing process again - I should have gotten them both done at the same time.

OH shahla_rose- go with the standard size piercing jewerly... if you make any adjustments - they are hard to find in styles you like sometimes. I should have stuck with the 14, no matter how much I liked the 16's look better.

if you decide to get pierced again, here's a little piece of info...

the hollow/push-through type needles are NOT single use only.
they are sterilised and reused.

personally, i would never use them, as i do not believe that anything other than single-use, disposable needles are a guarantee against blood-borne pathogens.

oh, there will be those that disagree with me, saying that autoclaving eliminates the threat, but i just cannot see how autoclaving something with an extremely narrow closed tube at one end can be 100% safe.

Well the pain only lasts a couple of minutes, however the nipples are very sensitive.

My nipples didn't bleed when they were being stretched.

Of course pain is a factor in making a decision in something like body modification, ie; Branding.

Or getting a broken nose in a hockey fight. (had to add that in, y'know, the NHL lockout and all...)

stretching up is very different to getting pierced.

for a start, it does not create a fresh wound.

pain should not be a deciding factor - it should be considered - yes - but should not be the end-all.

oh, and branding isn't as painful as you think!

Autoclaving works by raising everything up to a temperature where proteins and nucleic acids denature. Everything in the autoclave becomes that temperature, so it is very good against everything but spore producers. No blood borne pathogens I'm aware of are spore producers so its pretty safe.

unless the spores are in the autoclave.
do you have any idea how many places DON'T spore-test weekly?

sorry, there's nothing as safe as single-use... anything that actually pierces the skin/goes into the piercing is single-use only in my studio.

(even though i spore-test twice a week.)

I know about all the autoclave stuff.. and I know the guy who did my belly button uses it so that all cool but I'm just worried about how the piercing acts after

Women with pierced nipples look increadable sexy.
What type are you looking to do?
