OK, fellow Doms, this one's for you.

Have you noticed a distinct lack of subs in your area? If not, more power to you, but I'm noticing that there aren't as many out there as there used to be...then again I just moved. Not real sure.

Thoughts?
 
Not sure if you wanted female participation, but I haven't noticed anything odd in my area...maybe you should look elsewhere :)

For Bondage and Painplay, sure. But the frequenters aren't into Dom/sub for shit.

...there's a furry group, but I stay away on general principle...
 
They're there for kinkiness...not the psychology of it.

They're like kids who like to go to parties to get away with something.
 
That sounds like it stinks! Maybe if you look hard, or find someone adventerous enough... I love newbies, personally.
 
You may have a point...I guess I just want to gripe...

Still, if anyone else can comment, I'd like to see if it's my locale, or just lack of motivation on my part.

Yet another reason I'm never moving to a state that's not on an ocean. The natives don't get out enough.
 
I've lived a little west of there, (Ft. Riley) and must commiserate with you. I still have friends in the area, and from what I understand, your best bet is to head to KC. They actually have a fairly thriving scene, and I know there are those into D/s there. Good luck!
 
May sound crazy

Here is an idea,

Try taking an add out in the paper. Respectable Dom looking for full time relationship XXX-XXXX

Winces at what you might get, but hey you never know.

Other option is look online, establish something, then go get her azz and bring back to live with you.

Lastly shake things up a bit at the local painsters. You might find a subbie or two hiding in the group.

The ad in the paper would work fine for me except for the financial and marital restraints. My wife and I have an agreement or openness, but home is safe base.

As for the second option, I've been here almost a year. The painsters are either in to the pain alone, or just trying to prove something. And D/s isn't it.

Wonder if there are others out there like you, who after seeing the plight of the painsters, kinda just gave up. What about getting a new group going. Might be more than you really want to do or handle. But hey, might be a chance for others to come out of the wood work, and puts you in control so that its D/s focused.

It may be more than you want to take on, but Hell throw a D/s BBQ once a month and see if you can generate some interest. Otherwise it looks like road work ahead for you.

I'm not a fellow dom, but in answer to your question, I blame this on those scurvy belching pirates over in theHe-Man Macho Masters of the Universe thread. I heard they recently lost all of theirs one night when they were drunk off their butts and left the slave pen doors unlocked, and they've been desperately trying to restock ever since. :/
