[ooc thread]

Rogue sat atop the mansion's roof, watching the clouds pass above as she waited for sunrise. She was up rather early compared to most of the others in the mansion... but she had been having weird dreams lately. Things she just didn't understand...

A morning flight helped to clear her mind. She had only been back a few minutes now, but to sit there, at the highest peak of the building, and just watch the morning sun- that helped to clear her mind. Even in the midst of the noise of New York, she could find a moment of calm.

She smiled as the first rays passed along the horizon, getting to her feet and stretching out. "Suppose that'll be wakin' everybody else up now...," she sighed.

Jack Stryder walked slowly towards the mansion ahead of him. He carried only a duffel bag over one shoulder, and a backpack at his back. He pulled down his shades, looking at the mansion for a moment as he walked up to the gates. He reached for the buzzer, and pressed it, then waited for the gates to open. He let the duffel bag fall to the ground, stretching his shoulder.

Rogue glanced up, spotting the man at the gate and jumping off the roof to go greet him. She landed on the opposite side of the fence, smiling at him through the bars. "Y' know, I was hopin' t' let them sleep in. Y' ain't seen anythin' till ya seen a pissed off Wolverine.. That man needs his beauty sleep."
She hit the button on the side of the stone wall, letting the gate open. "M' name's Rogue. Welcome to Xavier's... Would Professor be knowin' yer comin' in or are ya just a stoppin' in visit?" She smiled at him, though still kept her arms folded behind her as she let him inside the main yard.

Jack raised an eyebrow, looking the beautiful woman up and down. He grinned as she asked him if Charles Xavier knew he was coming. "He isn't supposed to, but he probably does, if what I've heard of him is true. Jack Stryder. Call me Zero if you'd prefer."

"Zero, hmm?" Rogue grinned, guesturing for him to follow her back up the walk to the mansion. "Possible he does. He's been awful busy lately... Been checkin' in with everybody, though..." She tapped her forehead, smiling. "I bet somebody new comin' up his sidewalk'd get his attention, though." She gave a soft laugh, opening the door.
"C'mon, I'll show ya t' his office."

Jack raised an eyebrow, and shook his head, then followed the woman. As he did so, he watched her hips sway. It would be interesting being in bed with her. Of course, he noticed she had very little flesh uncovered. He wondered if that was related to her powers. He continued following her, shifting his duffel bag over to his other shoulder.

Rogue paused as they reached Xavier's office, frowning at the closed doors. "Aw, dammit... he's busy..."
She glanced back, seeing the bag on his shoulder. "I can already guess yer gon' be a resident here though... There are some open rooms up on the 3rd floor. Maybe we can getcha set up while we wait fer him t' open up."
She turned back towards the staircase, playing with her coat's ties as they walked on. "If y' don't mind me askin'... What's yer powers?"
She held up a gloved hand, frowning. "Me... I... can't touch any other mutants skin-to-skin. M' powers absorb theirs. How long I have 'em depends on how long I was touchin' that mutant.." She frowned. "M' flight and strength came from.. a bad incident with that."

Jack followed her up to a closed door, and smiled as she told him to follow her somewhere else. He did so, watching her walk as she ascended the steps. He kept his eyes on her arse, feeling his manhood grow in response to the visual. When she asked him about his powers, he grinned. "I can make and control plasma."

Rogue glanced back to him with surprised eyes at that. "Dang. Huh. Well, I know there's a few empty rooms; would ya rather a view of the pool, er the woods, er just... the yard?"
She wasn't really sur eon how to get him a room, to be honest. Jean or Professor usually handled all this stuff... but at least she felt like she was helping.
...Was he staring at her butt?
Selfconsciously, she shifted her belt, letting it fall the other way before tugging her coat down again, blushing. "Ah- Rooms. Here, I can show 'em t' ya in that's easier fer ya."

Jack looked up, then blushed, looking away. Busted. Oh well, he thought. "Well, maybe we should wait until later." He stopped, leaning against a wall, and rested a bit. Why did he have to carry so many electronics with him. All they did was slow him down. He almost forgot to tell her about something. "You know, it might be possible to...well, for lack of a better phrase, sheath you in plasma, if you wanted to do things you normally couldn't do with your powers. All it really is is electrical energy. Essentially, I could probably control the flow of energyt between us."

Rogue smiled as she saw him struggling with his bag. "Here, y' want me t' help you with that?"
She stooped to pick it up from him, pausing as he explained his thoughts to her. She only stared at him for a moment, as though shocked at his words. "I- uh-"
She swallowed. "That's very... kind of ya to suggest...," She said softly. "I.. suppose that'd be somethin' fer me t' consider. I gotta tell ya though, I am kinda leery a' that kinda idea right now..."

Jack smiled as she helped him with his bag, then grinned at her reaction to his statement. Just as quickly, however, his face went calm and still. "Sorry, sometimes my mouth moves without my brain's consent. It's a curse, I'm afraid." He stretched out his arm, then sighed in contentment. "Food would probably be a good idea."

"What, now ya think I'm s'posed ta feed ya, too?" Rogue smiled as she said it, plunking his bag down in one of the open rooms. "At least its claimin' one fer ya." She closed the door, then started back downstairs.
"C'mon, I'll give ya the grand tour." She laughed, picking both feet up from the staircase and flaoting alongside him as they went on. "Ya already saw the main offices... Back where Charles' is holin' hisself up in." She pointed down one of the other corridors. "Down there's library, rec room, doorway t' the basement.." She paused. "That's... a whole other tour, there. But anyways- kitchen. This way."

The doors slammed shut behind the silverhiared man, his grey suit seeming to make his hair shine even more as he walked gracefully along the tiles. His hands were clenched at his sides, though no one dared challenge him as he passed through the senator's office.
Only a fool dared raise a gun to Magneto...

"Mister Senator...," He said flatly, his fist falling against the oak door blocking him from the man he had come to see. "You know why I am here, do you not? I suggest you kindly open these doors, and spare any possible violence from happening."
Nothing. This had been expected.
"Very well." His hands rested against the latches, yanking them free of the wall and giving him access.
Immediately a military team dropped down on him, throwing a net over the mutant and barking orders. "Magneto is down- I repeat, the threat has been taken down..," One shouted into a communicator.
"..Threat, yes...," Magneto chuckled from the floor, laughing harder as the men pinned his hands behind him. "But... Magneto..." His skin seemed to be taking a blueish hue, as though the men were choking him. "..No."
Mystique hurled the men off of her, easily getting to her feet and wrapping the net about her leg, using it as extra force as she kicked one of the men upside the head. She smiled down at him, then jumped onto the senator's desk and grabbed him by the neck. "Do you honestly believe that my Erik would even stand in the same room as you?," she hissed. "Now... just give me what we want, and I'll be on my way."
She smiled again as the senator gave her a small envelope, shaking as she dropped him. "See how easy that was? Good day, Senator." With that, she ran from the office.

Jack grinned, then shrugged. He followed her, his eyes tracking where she pointed. Because he could generate and control plasma, which was basically ionization and intense electrical energy, he could sense the power drain the lower levels. It was rather enormous, he thought, which puzzled him a little. He shrugged it off, then looked around. Then he followed her to the kitchen, humming softly.

"I gotta confess to ya, I ain't much of a cook," Rogue admitted with a soft shrug. "I think we got some pizza from the other night left in there..." She opened the fridge, pawing around a bit and taking out two boxes. She groaned as she set them apart from each other, the bottom one having 3 large holes punctured through the top.
"Dammit Logan... Everybody else'd write their name on it.... You gotta do that?," she muttered, putting that box back into the fridge. "Well.. at least there's this one... Y' don't mind pepperoni 'n' cheese, do ya?"

Jack shook his head slowly, sitting down at the counter. "As long as it doesn't have mushrooms, I'm fine. So, what do you guys do for fun around here? Especially you. You look like you'd be a lot of fun." He realized what he was saying, and clapped a hand over his mouth.

"Naw, no mushrooms." Rogue divided up a few plates worth, then gave him a blank stare. "I- wha?"
She shook her head. Maybe she had just.. misunderstood that. Yeah.
"Takin' a few laps in the pool... Spend most'a my time in the air. Feel so much better up there. Between that 'n' helpin' Charles with some of the classes with the kids..." She shrugged, putting the pizza into the microwave. "Guess I'm a bit of a home body most'a the time."

Jack blushed red, looking away as she caught what he said. He shook his head, then slowly looked back at her as she was turned away from him. He shivered slightly, then looked down at the counter, thinking.

Rogue frowned, getting the pieces back out as the timer went off.
*Guy's tryin' too hard,* She thought to herself, smirking as she handed him one of the plates. *Gon' keep embarassin' his'elf he keeps it up...*

"Here go. Fresh baked," she joked, digging out two sodas from the fridge and tossing one to him. "I promise ya, dinners are much better. Last night we all were just a bit tired t' be thinkin' 'bout cookin'..."

Jack caught the soda, opening it and setting it down, before grabbing a piece of pizza. He took a bite, then closed his eyes, thinking. He didn't trust his mouth at the moment, so he just continued stuffing his face. When he felt he could speak without saying something stupid, he opened his mouth. "So, where is this pool you mentioned?"

"Out there." Rogue guestured out the sliding glass doors behind him, then ttok a bite of her own slice. "Other side of the shed, down the path. Ain't that far down... Pool house blocks of most 'a the view from here, though."
She sipped down her soda, then smiled at him. "I guess I'm not that good on givin' tours, either. I'm so used t' the place on m' own that.. I just know it. Hard ta be pinpointin' special places fer anyone."

Jean

Jean was checking on different people around the mansion, and had noticed Rogue giving someone she didn't know a tour. She followed them down to where they were and cleared her throat. "Hello Rogue, who might your friend be? I don't recognize him as a student here." She raised an eyebrow at the southern girl with the question. She didn't want to probe his mind without knowing a bit about him first.

Jack raised an eyebrow, about to say something when they were interrupted. He turned to the source of the interruption, to see a gorgeous redhead. He blinked, then looked away for a second, then looked back, and stuck out his hand. "Jack Stryder, but most call me Zero."

"Jean!" Rogue gave a grin. "Yeah, that's Zero. I guess he was hopin' t' talk to Xavier.. but he barred his'elf in his office. Zero's gon' be stayin' with us for awhile... I dropped his bag inta one of the empty rooms on the third floor. Hope that's alright. I didn't know what else t' do with it." She frowned, giving a shrug as she cleaned up her dishes.
"Oh man, I should'a thought about this earlier... I'm sorry if I look like somethin' out of a horror movie, Zero." She frowned, looking at herself in one of the pans next to the sink. "I din't bother takin' a shower yet- I just got back from a mornin' wake up flight... I must be lookin' terrible." She glanced at him, shaking her head. "If ya want'a check out the place on yer own fer a bit, I'm gon' run up and take a quickie shower."

Jack grinned, listening to Rogue for a few seconds, then nodded. "That'll be fine. Let me know when you're done, I'll probably be out by the pool." With that, he finished off his pizza, and then cleaned the dishes. He stretched, then headed upstairs to get his swimming trunks.
