In 2143 the United Earth Ship - Casus launched with 310 souls aboard, bound for a distant planet to colonize. The journey to this new world would take 25 years at the worlds present technology. As such the ships are almost completely automated, with the crew and passengers put in stasis. Ships of this nature had been leaving on an almost frequent basis anymore; the earth being over crowded, and the chance to start new lured the needed experts from needed fields of study, the more common man to venture out, the less fortunate to enlist as a labor force, as indentured servants to the state or those rich enough to purchase the contracts from the government. and it served to rid the earth of criminals for hard labor such as mining.

U.E.S. Casus left with 10 crew; ranging from the captain to the engine technicians. Two doctors and two nurses were included in the crew to revive the passengers. Aboard were 50 criminals, guilty of various crimes, but deemed fit enough to work hard labor on some distant rock, with them went 10 guards to keep an eye on them. 100 ‘enlistees’ were along for the ride, in hopes of working to pay off their debt to relocate and hopefully make a life for themselves one day. 10 government officials came to run the new colony, 30 specialists from various fields…the new upper class of space colonization, and 100 normal folks, looking to start over on planet not yet over crowded and full of crime.

But 15 years into the journey, the U.E.S. Casus found an uncharted rock debris field – likely the result of two asteroids colliding long ago – and she charged right through it. Systems were damaged or destroyed; including communications, passenger and crew life pods and navigation.

1000 years later the Casus has nearly run out of fuel, after functioning at low power…drifting through space. It’s taken a beating in its long life, but knows it can no longer function alone, and tries to wake its crew; but only a doctor and engine tech. Are left. The degraded computers also start the wake up systems on all surviving pods. As the people begin to awake from a far, far too long sleep some remember who they are, and why they came, others have memory problems of various degrees. The ship is a wreck, the all authority is dead, and people are confused.

The ship, and all aboard have been long since considered dead by earth.

Richard Gamble, Civil Engineering Specialist

After a series of sex scandals with students, most of which were true, about Professor Richard Gamble, he decided to leave the public eye and earth all together. His accomplishments and degrees were real enough to get a slot on the next sleeper ship headed out. On a new colony no one would harass him, no more college girls looking for ways to boost their grades, and he’d be a needed asset to the colony. As a specialist you were promised the best accommodations – so it had its perks. As luck would have it, the next ship, the U.E.S. Casus was in need of a chief Civil engineer. As a doctorate in both physics and civil engineering he was welcomed with open arms to the passenger list.

Before the cold gel-like fluid filled his tank and placed him in hibernation, his last thoughts were of how sexy the Crew doctor’s ass was, and if he could get a shot at it with his new position in the colony….old habits die hard.

Lights. Flashing light…warning lights. Noise…sirens, klaxon!

In a cold, confused, and wet from the hibernation gel that surrounded him for so long, he fell from his stasis tube, and looked around. Several other tubes in this bay were beginning to open up as his just had. The only light sources were the red emergency lights, and the flashing yellow of the klaxon.

His memory as to where, why and who he was was a blur for the moment. All he wanted was to shut that sound off, and get warm.

(OOC: Sorry for the delay in posting. RL came up .. in a good way, but no less demandingly. )

She came into being rather suddenly. She felt cold and wet, and panicked for a moment, trying to sit up but unable to due to the glassteel lid that covered over her ... bed? Coffin? Whatever it was, she wanted out, and banged against the clear but unyielding substance.

She calmed down realizing it was useless to try this, and settled back down. the bed (?) she was in was comfortable, but everything looked and felt wet, like a fluid had just been drained away from the interior.

Looking right and left with her head flat on the surface, she saw computer screens set up in a way that allowed her to read the information readily when she was lying flat. This confused her further, as she knew that she should understand what these screens were telling her .. but they were meaningless scrawl.

She looked down. She was apparently tall, fairly fit but not athletic. Her breasts were ... average? They settled naturally with gravity so they apparently were hers naturally. To one side of her body was a small control panel. She reached for this, and the buttons were easily in reach of her fingers. She had no idea what to do, however.

Well, apparently her fingers remembered, because with little thought, she pressed a button as if by random, and the glassteel canopy folded up, allowing her to sit up completely.

The light was red. The hair that fell down around her face seemed red also, but that might have just been due to the light.

Carefully, she swung her legs around, and stood up on the cold metal floor. She blinked, and for some reason knew she was there to look at the stars .. but why, and where, she didn't know ....

Story: Ariel was born wealthy (just because I'm poor in real life so my characters online have to be rich ) but instead of taking the free ride in life, she chose to become a police officer. The thrill of the chase and taking out the bad guys attracted her. After witnessing the death of her partner, and avoiding near death herself, she decided to get out of police work and become a prison guard. When the space ship started taking on prisoners, she knew this was something new and exciting she could do. She accompanies a prisoner by the name of Chase Vellers, a man who has maintained his innocence in the armed robbery of a gas station.

Jennifer knew as soon as she woke up something was wrong. The gel slipped away from her naked form and the seal swished open. She stepped down and the alarms were screaming and lights were blinding her sleep laden eyes. Her hands came up and she wiped the slime from her face. She immediately grabbed the white coat on the hook by her chamber as well as a towel that she’d place there before she sealed herself up tightly. She’d been one of the last sealed, her and the captain. She wiped as much as the goo from her skin, button the lab coat and quickly scanned the silent faces of those that still slept.

She had a splitting headache and she was glad that some people were awakening. As she took in their features she thought for a moment as to where she was and how she knew where the coat would be as well as the towel being at her disposal. She pressed her fingers to her temples and massaged them.

“What the fuck happened?” she asked herself. She stumbled along, her hands steading her by gripping the chambers that hadn’t opened... or wouldn’t. Something told her that she was important to this ship, she needed to think why. She finally reached the door of the room she was in and pulled it open. “Fuck,” she muttered as a rolling pitch of the ship forced her to slam her head in to a cabinet. “Damn it, good thing I’m the doc,” she hissed.

She stopped and stared back at the locker that had held her coat. “I’m the Doc?” she asked herself. “Oh fuck a duck... I am,”she pressed her hand to her stomach went back into the room and began to assess the damage to the chambers that hadn’t opened.

Several were dead inside, died years ago the way it looked. Some of the gel had leaked from the seals and it had dried on the floor as large globs of green cement. She shuddered as she thought of the lost lives. She got to her locker and pulled it open wondering if her belongings were there. She found her slack, pulled them on and while she was opening up the case that held her clothes she noticed a piece of paper fall out.

“Here’s my chow?” Jennifer muttered and looked at the number. It was a number to one of the chambers. She walked over and stared inside. “Holy fuck,” she shouted. Her fingers flew over the number pad and she watched as the gel emptied out. She pulled the door open as soon as the seal swished apart. “Chowder!” she shouted as the Great Dane jumped in to her arms.

He stumbled down the corridor, hands clasped over his ears to shield them from the shrieking klaxon that refused to cease torturing him. The door opening into another set of corridors, running perpendicular to the one he left, and he continued down the shortest looking one, which opened up to a room without stasis chambers.

Instead it was full of computer terminals, half of them lit up. His brains had started to slowly remember what had been going on…the symbols on the screens meant something to him.

Green lights showed successful awakenings, red showed unsuccessful ones, and black showed ones that never had a chance due to damage. Black and red dominated the board.

A green one was not far from his current location according to the figure. But he wasn;t going chasing down people like this:

He beat on some buttons on the terminal, and finally, thank everything holy, the damn klaxon shut off. Somehow that was more important then clothes.

He ran off in the direction of the nearest green light…and damn near ran over a woman in a lab coat, and her dog, as he came through the door.

Chris suddenly gasped almost violently as her lungs filled with air for the first time in so long. Coughing, her light green eyes opened, a look of panic shining back at her from the reflection of the glass that was above her. It took her a minute to remember where she was, but when she did her body relaxed slightly. Reaching around, her fingers finally fumbled onto the release button. Shivering, she winced at the loud sirens going off.

What did they do to my ship? Crawling out and disconnecting the wires, she looked around, her eyebrows furrowing at the site around her. What had happened? Things were definately not how she had left them. Wrapping ehr arms around her, she ran her hands up and down her arms. It was freezing. Looking around, her legs feeling slightly awkward after not having walked in so long.

Walking through a few rooms, she reached up and covered her ears from the harsh sounds, but was surprised when it suddenly stopped. Looking up, she bit her bottom lip. Something had gone terribly wrong, to say the least. Walking into one room, she sighed with relief as she spotted a brown blanket draped over a chair. Picking it up, she wrapped her around trembling body.

Turning around, she jumped as another man had appeared behind her. He looked completely dazed.

"Who are you?" Speaking up, her voice slightly hoarse from not being used in so long, Christina took a step back,feeling very uncomfortable. He didn't say anything to answer her, but ascended on her. The idea that he was one of the prisoners registered too late in her mind. Gasping as he shoved her against the wall, she let out a deafening shriek. He quickly silenced her as his lips covered hers with a psychotic hunger. Trying to scream regardless of the obstruction, she felt the blanket get torn away from her. Bringing her knee up, she managed to nail him in the crotch. While it didn't move him off her, he did draw his mouth away from hers.

"HELP." Screaming as loud as she could, Chris tried her hardest to get away from him, but he was much too large for her.

Jenny couldn’t believe he’d actually held up to his promise, but there was Chowder jumping up and down all over the lab, acting like he was the happiest dog alive. Granted... he was the only dog alive on this ship. She took a tally on the number of pods that had leaked during the trip and made note of which would be jettisoned into space later when the proper procedures could be taken care of.

She was glad their bodies were still froze though, or the smell would have been horrid. She coded in the pressed the screens of the universal control pad and released the gel from all the remaining pods in the residential area of the ship, she headed out to do a count on the prisoners that had survived.

As she rounded the corner a man almost ran into her and Chowder immediately began to growl. “Heel,” she ordered. He quieted and sat down, pressing himself against her.

Jennifer studied the man in front of her, saw he was disorientated and knew that he too had just woken up shortly. She was glad to see another face and she quickly introduced herself as the ship doctor.

“I know you have a lot of questions... and so do I, but first...” she was cut off. A scream ripped through the air and Jenny turned to find its source. “Oh fuck,” she muttered. “The prisoners!” she ran as fast as she could trying to find the woman that was screaming for help.

“Jesus Christ!” she shouted. She pushed at the man with all her might and pushed the girl back. “Now Chowder!” The Great Dane leapt up baring his teeth at the prisoner. The prisoner was a brute and soon Chowder was at his throat. “Don’t interfere,” she told the girl as well as the man that more than likely followed her.

The screams that filled the air now were those of a dying man. “Heel,” Jennifer ordered. Chowder released the man’s throat and walked back to her side. “Are you okay?” she asked the girl.

He was right on her heels, running toward the sound of a screaming…only after rounding a few corners did he think that it might not be best to do so alone. He looked about as they pasted through rooms and corridors, and stopped long enough to grab s pipe laying around…upset that the ship was apparently so damaged as to have so much debris, but thankful he had a weapon.

He started running back after the lady with her dog again, but arrived a moment too late…the dog had taken care of the issue.

Well at least the problem was taken care of…for now. It looked like the problems just kept coming.

“Is everyone ok? If he was out,” points to the prisoner identification tattoo, “then more could be out…I think sticking together might benefit everyone…and sure glad someone smuggled a dog on board!”

He looked the two women over, and we pretty sure that the lady with the dog was the Doctor he went into stasis fantasizing about…and the attacked girl looked kind of familiar, one of the crew maybe?

The way he had her pinned against the wall was making it too difficult for her to slide away from him, and the fact that she was shorter than any normal person her age did not help matters. Whimpering, he had smothered her mouth with his hand after she had gotten in that one good scream.

The sound of a growling dog scared the bajeenkus out of her even further. Screaming, she felt herself try to push against the wall as the bared teeth of the mongrul came towards her own face. Granted it was after the man, but it still came towards her. As the man stumbled backwards, she sank to the floor, grabbing the blanket to cover herself.

Her entire body was trembling again, only this time it wasn't from the cold, but from the shock of fright that went through her. Swallowing, she nodded, her eyes staring at the man that was now lying limply on the ground.

Tyler felt the green slime that had held her in stasis finally being drained off her body and sighed softly. At last! She wasn't sure just how long she'd been locked in the damned stasis pod but somehow it felt longer than it should have. She wasn't sure if that was normal or not though. It could just be her sense of timing was screwed up from being in stasis.

At last the pod was drained and opened and she stepped out onto the ship. Looking around she couldn't help but notice that there were no gaurds in site and that only a couple of the other prisoner pods were opened. The rest seemed to still be locked and quite a few looked like they'd leaked while enroute from Earth.

"Just what the fuck happened here?" she muttered to her self as she headed down the hall. Her first order of business was a shower and when she at last found the gaurds lounge (at least one of them was supposed to be awake at all times and she had thought they were supposed to rotate their shifts) she nearly purred with pleasure. In the back there was a shower and she laughed when she found that the water still ran through it.

Cleaning the green stasis goo from her hair and body she tried to remember the last time she'd felt so good and the only thing she could come up with was her first heist and her first kill. Thoughts of those made her smile but they also reminded her of why she was here. Twisting off the water she searched - well ransacked - the lounge until she found a pair of jeans that fit her hips though they only fell to mid calf on her legs. A shirt was easier as she simply grabbed one of the men's undershirts that seemed to populate most of the drawers. Her nipples were vaguley visible through the material but she didn't really care.

Clean and dressed she decided it was time to see if anyone else was still alive on this hulk of metal. It was obvious from the prisoner stasis pods that something had gone wrong. Now she'd have to find out what and who was left alive. For now at least she would keep her particular skills and talents to herself. If they didn't already know who she was there was no need to inform them too quickly.

At last she thought she heard voices and what sounded suspiciously like a dog.

The green sludge slithered out, off of his pale body, and his consciousness rolled back in, equally serpentlike. He felt the chill of rexposure and his eyes shot open eagerly; after a moment of recalibration, his body lifted itself up and he smiled widely. "Okay, let's get to work!" he proclaimed, hopping out.. and seeing nobody. He paused. "Um? 'Ello? Anyone? Please answer!" He waited. And waited. And waited.

Nothing.

This was bad. No responses.. maybe he was just released early. That must be it. His instructions would be in his personal datapad and everything would be peechy keen. He knelt to get at his small container of personal possession and checked his digital datapad.

Nothing.

This was VERY bad. These things supposedly had a battery life of a millenium. Something must have disrupted it, obviously, for it not to work now. Unless... No, he shoved the thought out of the tempest that was his mind. Impossible. Nothing could have gone wrong.

He stood straight again, glanced around, and decided that he would rather like to be clothed in a situation like this one. Looking around, he observed one odd thing after another: drained but closed pods; a severe lack of guard personnel; open pods of prisoners, closed pods of specialists...

"Oh, my," he whispered to himself, then shook his head to clear it a bit and wandered off in search of clothing. There had been one opened guard pod, he noted, so the guards' quaters would likely be unmanned. He stumbled to it, knowing the outlay of the ship entirely by memory, and entered, finding his naked self confronted with the criminal contained in aforementioned pod.

He nearly fainted.

Tyler was startled at the sudden appearance of a strange, green slime covered, naked man just before. She backpedaled a couple of steps not from fear but because she'd just gotten clean and she'd be damned if she was going to get coated in that green slime again anytime soon. She could see the fear in the mans eyes however and sighed softly.

He obviously knew she'd come out of one of the prisoner pods. Still she'd try to be friendly unless he gave her cause not to be.

"The shower in the gaurds lounge there works and there's clothing in the drawers. You might want to get cleaned up...unless you like wandering around a ship naked and green."

Reaching up absently she twirled one long strand of blue/black hair around a long delicate finger while eyeing the strange man in front of her. He was most obviously nervous around her and that made her half tempted to give him her name to see if it made him even jumpier. She decided against it. Better that no one know until she'd scanned the situation on board first.

"Listen I thought I heard voices from that hallway there and am heading that way. When you're cleaned up follow along and you'll likely find whose left."

That said she left him standing in the hallway and headed off toward the voices she'd heard.

Only after she'd departed did her words start to sink in. He started to direct a greeting to the space she'd previous stood in, but the fact she'd left registered and he decided against it, instead snooping around a tad before using the shower she'd pointed out before. He had difficulty not thinking of her; she had been so terse with him, but not hostile, even though she was a convict.

After he'd cleaned up, he went through similar steps as she had, searching out spare articles of clothing and donning them thankfully. After he'd assembled a full outfit, he search around the guard's quarters for a few more minutes before managing to find a hidden computer terminal lodged in a wall.

He accessed it, having no trouble in bypassing the protections, and looked with a realized horror upon the date: September 22... 3143. This was impossible. The worst-case scenario. The absolutely least good thing that possibly could have occured.

He shrugged and left the way the girl had.

Jennifer looked at the man that had bumped into her and her dog. “His name is Chowder... and he was a surprise to see, but a very good one.” She looked at the woman and moved away from her. “Come here Chowder,” Jennifer called him to her as she walked around the corner, leaving the dead body and the two people behind her. “I thought I...,” she stopped and looked back at the group. “Voices,” she turned back to the hall. “Yep... I did. We have more survivors and they look clean,” she laughed and headed toward them.

She wasn’t about to make enemies. She didn’t have time. Her eyes looked over the woman and noticed she looked very fit and unharmed. “Good,” she thought to herself. She then glanced at the man coming from behind.

Jennifer turned to the woman and extended her hand. “I’m Doctor Jennifer Vargus. There are other survivors back there.” She pointed out the room, wondering if the people inside had already come out and were listening to her.

As she shook the woman’s hand she looked back at the man coming forward. “It’s nice to see a somewhat familiar face... Doctor Alexander McCragh, right? You can get this hunk of metal running again... can't you?” she asked giving her hand for him to shake as well.

Richard, as he was pretty sure his name was, looked at the new man, clean and dressed, while he, himself, stood still naked and sliming, holing a pipe. Might as well been holding his dick, seemed about as socially graceful.

“Hey friend, where did ya find a shower and clothes on this heap?”

He still thought it best the all should stick together, safety in numbers and all – and especially sticking with the Doctor with a dog.

“Why don’t we all stick together, and go get clean and dressed, then see who else we can find, and just how bad our situation is?”

Down one of the corridors he thought he saw another woman, also in clothes, walk by. The idea of survivors simultaneously game him hope and scared the shit out of him. This was far from the orderly way of waking up an board a functioning ship and getting read to colonize a new world…this was chaos let loose on a dieing tin can.

Perhaps Chris was acting a bit like a whimp, but she was still quite shaken up. Of course, she would probably be all fine and dandy had she not just been pinned to a wall by a man three times her size. That was just a small technicality. She suddenly found herself afraid of everybody. Giver her a wrench. That was all she needed. A wrench.

Standing up slowly, her knees still felt like pudding, and she pulled her blanket tightly around her body. One last shiver and she felt relatively better. She remained silent as the two parties greeted each other, merely standing in the background. She had never been much of a conversationalist.

The idea of getting cleaned up and dressed sounded wonderful. After that, she wanted to check out the shape of the ship and run a complete diagnostic. They still had some electricity left, which was good. It would be a pain in the butt if she had to run a manual check on everything.

"I vote we take the stairs. Granted the showers are on one of the upper levels of the ship, but we don't know what kind of damage we're looking at." Speaking up, Chris lifted her eyes from the floor and looked around.

“I’m Doctor Jennifer Vargus. There are other survivors back there.”

Tyler was startled at the friendly tone of the doctor's voiceand realized the woman must not know who she was. If she'd known there was no way she'd have been quite so welcoming and she certainly wouldn't have offered her hand to Tyler if she'd known what Tyler's profession had been before they'd all boarded this hunk of metal.

"Nice to meet you Doctor. I'm Ty," she said as she shook the woman's hand. She didn't think there was any need to elaborate on her name and the doctor was distracted anyway when the strange man she'd run into earlier appeared.

“It’s nice to see a somewhat familiar face... Doctor Alexander McCragh, right? You can get this hunk of metal running again... can't you?”

Tyler listened as Jennifer greeted the man and had to fight the urge to roll her eyes. Two doctors, how lovely. She hoped their specialties were different and figured they were at the mention of the man getting the ship running in some semblance of order again. The man made her mildly nervous. He'd been placed awefully close to the convicts pods and if he could get the computers and such running on the ship again her past wouldn't remain there for long.

Turning slowly she offered a smile to Alexander but there was a predatory look in her eyes as well. It was something most people never noticed but those that did took the hint and stayed out of her way. Those that hadn't...well they'd never bothered her again.

As she shook the woman’s hand she looked back at the man coming forward. “It’s nice to see a somewhat familiar face... Doctor Alexander McCragh, right? You can get this hunk of metal running again... can't you?” she asked giving her hand for him to shake as well.
He took it with a wide grin, shaking it readily, somewhat overwhelmed with the number of people he'd managed to stumble into so quickly. "That's me," he responded, "and if anyone can, it shall be done." He was undeniably arrogant, but had the skills to back it up. He turned his head a bit...

“Hey friend, where did ya find a shower and clothes on this heap?”
...and responded to the next query. "The guards' quarters are open," he informed the good Professor. "There is a shower and plenty of extra clothing about. I'm sure you'll be as happy as me to get that gook off of you." He laughed at the blatant truth of it; his eyes glittered with the pleasure of a supressed worry passing away. He had been very afraid that there would be only one or two people alive!

"I vote we take the stairs. Granted the showers are on one of the upper levels of the ship, but we don't know what kind of damage we're looking at." Speaking up, Chris lifted her eyes from the floor and looked around.
His head shifted again; he was responding in order, first-come-first-serve. "I concur. All I personally know so far is that the core system is still up and running; I accessed it the hidden terminal in the guards' quarters for a moment before coming here. As long as some of the equipment aboard is also intact, we should theoretically be able to manage." He smiled widely, confidently; a group of five, floating in space, with a dog and likely murderous criminals aboard was, to him, a small obstacle.

He took a step back from the group, stretching, observing, when he caught an ood look in the eyes of the first girl he'd met. He couldn't tell quite what it was: ambition, perhaps, defensiveness, maybe even a hint of hostility. Quite understandable in the situation, especially since she'd really been left out of the loop of the conversation. He turned his innocent grin fully on her and extended a hand. "I don't think we were properly introduced, miss!" His smile met hers and there was an intangibly ironic clash of attitude which he was, of course, fully ignorant of.

Seeing as how two people had come from showers on this level, the idea to go upstairs obviously held some other key to the now very shy girl. Not that he could blame her…

So up they went, and anytime they passed a rubble pile that looked useful he handed out another bar, or pipe or other blunt makeshift weapon. Soon everyone had something to wield if they came across other survivors that were less then friendly.

Finally arriving at the level the girl indicated, they found the showers…also thankfully still working, but only two showerheads.

“You Ladies go ahead, I’ll hang out here and help keep watch.” Speaking to the Medical Doctor and the girl hiding in a blanket.

Under other circumstances he’d have been the first to try to get in there with two showering women…but the world they woke up in was far, far form the one they fell asleep to.

He saw Doctor McCragh go to examine a nearby terminal…which Richard assumed might be useful, but still wished everyone would stick together a bit more. The new woman was like staring at a block of ice. Rather pleasingly sculpted ice…but ice. He couldn’t get anything from her. The perfect poker face…which only people who had something to hide bothered to prefect.

Jennifer chuckled, “I’ll keep watch. I’m so sure.” She rolled her eyes and headed to the showers. She knew the green goo was drying in layers. She stopped and jimmied a lock and dug out several articles of clothes. The nice thing about this day and age everything fit you to a “T”. She took the royal blue shirt and white slacks with her to the back of the room and pulled off the lab coat.

Chowder followed her in and soon she was washing her dog and then herself. Once the water and soap finally cleared away the residue that was caked in her hair and had covered every inch of her, she felt like a new woman. Her hands moved down her neck, covering her breasts, and stomach soon she was smoothing hot water down her legs and over the tight cheeks of her ass. Eventually she admitted she was wasting time and she turned off the water.

She stepped free of the drain and watched Chowder shake himself free. Water went everywhere, but she didn’t mind. She hadn’t dried off yet and he was now just as clean as she was. Her fingers reached for a towel and she patted away the beads of moisture that ran over her skin. She felt awake now. Awake and clean. The shirt she chose molded to her body with a press of the button on the collar, soon it was hugging her frame like a second skin. The white slacks did the same and the button located at the hip was soon activated and that two molded to her body.

She found a pair of boots slid those on and then took her damp towel and toweled down Chowder. “First thing first... we need to check out how much of our non-perishables... actually perished. Then see when McCragh can get this hunk of metal running.”

Her eyes looked over to the woman in the blanket and wondered what her story was. She hadn’t failed to notice the surprise or the uncertainty in the other woman’s eyes when Jennifer offered to shake hands. Right now... everyone was an equal to Jennifer, they didn’t have to time to fight or squabble about rank or prisoners. It was going to take all of them to get themselves somewhere safe, before death became an obstacle they couldn’t dismiss.

She was thankful they had taken her advice about the stairs, adn thankful somebody had suggested finding showers. She felt incredibly gross, and her hair, which had been pulled back in a bun before stasis, felt plastered to her head. Reaching up, carefully so as not to expose herself, she pushed a loose, wet bang behind her ear. Grimacing slightly as she did so, she looked thoroughly disgusted.

Following silently, she realized how stiff her joints where. She shouldn't have felt like this over only twenty-five ish years. Tredging up the stairs, she stopped for a brief moment, the tips of her toes on the steps above her as she stretched her calves. Back on Earth, she would run five miles every morning to make sure she stayed fit. Being cramped up in a tiny little coffin had certainly not made her feel all that great.

Sighing, she continued on the way. At least she still had her somewhat athletic build. Reaching the showers, she felt slightly put out that the woman allowed her dog to take up the extra shower instead of another human being. Fighting the urge to roll her eyes, she waited patiently at the sound of the shower running. When she finally left, Chris finally slid in.

Opening a locker that had never been fully locked, she pulled out a blue tank top and a white skirt that had been left. Lifting them to her face, she sniffed them, grimacing at the musty smell. They were clean, at least. But they smelled like they had been sitting there for longer than they should have been.

Sliding into the shower, she inhaled deeply at the hot water. It felt so good, especially as the disgusting good slid off her body. Pulling her hair down, she ran her fingers through it, her face scrunching up at the feel. She tried to hurry up and wash her hair and bathe quickly so the others had a chance to get in.

Turning off the water, she dried her body off, gently patting her darkened hair dry. She had forgotten that her hair was as long as it was, now falling down to her mid back. Sliding into the form fitting tank top and the white skirt,which fit a bit too snug for her taste, she looked at herself in the mirror. Reaching down to the hip of the skirt, she hit the button which sized the skirt a little bit better. Now, instead of riding all the way up her butt, it fell to a few inches above her knees. How had the other woman managed to find pants, and she,the mechanic, ended up in a skirt? Grabbing a pair of boots, she slid them on and grabbed the towel.

"Next." Calling out, she continued to squeeze the water out of her hair as she walked out.

"Next."

Thank everything holy! Finally he could get this crap off him! He set down the large pipe outside the shower room, and looked at the two women who were now dressed. At least clothes would be at hand as well.

The water was wonderful, even if not nearly warm enough. Either the hot water was out, or the previous two occupants used it all. But that was alright…the goo was disappearing down the drain, and really that’s all one could hope for. His hair seemed longer then he remembered, he noticed once the green jelly was no longer holding it in odd shapes. He’d heard the stasis fields just slowed your body down to a nearly perfect stop, but that really you still grew, and aged – just at a tiny, tiny fraction of the pace. Still – 25 years should not have produced this much growth.

But pressing on, he just hoped nothing horrible had happened to his body. H woke up…which was a good deal more the most the pods.

Leaving the shower, he fumbled around the room…but it had looked like all the good stuff was already being worn. He managed to find some auto sizing boots, and pants in the nxt room, but no more shirts. He’d find another one in the travels through the ship. He did however find a jacket, and through that on, leaving it open. Picked up his trusty head bashing pipe, and returned to the group.

“Ok, everyone’s clean – what do we have next on this horror tour?”

(Bah.)

Tyler followed the group up the stairs to the showers. Why they felt the need to go upstairs when she'd already told them the gaurds shower worked she didn't know but at least up here there were two showers not just one. She now knew that none of them knew who the convicts were, a suspicion that had been confirmed when the man - she thought someone had called him Richard - handed her a pipe with a sharp, jagged end. She could use it as something to stab with or much like a baseball bat.

She liked the weight of a weapon in her hand but it wasn't as if she needed one. So far it looked like any of the other convicts that woke up were in another part of the ship because they hadn't come across them yet. She knew she couldn't be the only one that had survived and when it came to it she'd have to decide where her loyalties lie but for now there was no harm in her traveling with these people.

She kept her face neutral as they waited for the two women and the dog to wash and she could tell that Richard was bored. She wasn't great at small talk with people that weren't "her sort". After all you couldn't talk to them about job you'd just finished assassinating some rich mogul or your latest heist. So she just leaned against a wall and worked on braiding her hair so that it wouldn't fall down her back and get in the way.
