The planet had been designated Planet 109, though the Alpha station's crew had taken to calling it Siren. On the surface Siren was similar to earth in many ways - a mix of land and ocean, and a vast array of climates to investigate. The latter accounted for the multidisciplinary science teams aboard Alpha. Everything from geologists and chemists keen to search for new chemicals and elements, to biologists and botanists eager to get to grips with the living organisms on the ground. Siren appeared rich in plant life, but devoid of any higher life form.

All of this information, along with some basic tips on navigating the growing station, was provided to the drop teams in a suspiciously rapid orientation session after arrival. More surprising was that the teams had been granted immediate clearance to make a descent to the planet and begin research assignments as soon as they were prepared.

The precautions for an exo-biology investigation were always a little embarrassing. Beth knew that and she was at least somewhat prepared. This went further than normal though. The large medbay was busy with medics tending to the research team. Six biologists and an engineer. Three female biologists, two male and one that couldn't be so easily categorised. The medics were carefully cleansing the team. Removing every hair from the neck down. Washing down skin with a cool alcohol spray. Both were familiar enough. The cleansing enemas were new and Beth was flushing bright red by the time they were done.

Her long red hair tied up at the base of neck, and naked she stepped into the gelatinous green tinged shoes. The biomechanical nano material flowed thickly between her toes, viscous and slightly warm. It oozed quickly over her ankles, up her calves and thighs. As it coated her skin it became thinner. She held her arms out, watching the vacuum suit coat her arms and flow over her belly and high firm breasts. She closed her eyes as the suit reached her neck and flowed over her face. When she opened them, the world was tinted ever so slightly green. In the reflection of a steel cabinet she saw herself. An apparently naked girl, skin a light green, hair red, long slender legs for her tiny frame, the slightest of curves to her belly and ass. The suit was tougher than steel, could support her in a hard vacuum for a week, support any necessary body functions and included an AI whose intelligence was only a little lower than her own.
