i was woundering what a average or decent size dick is. i am about 6 inches maybe a bit bigger. i know some people say size doesnt matter but i am a little self consious and would just like to know if thats small or bog or average. thanks

Check out the Kinsey Insititute website (just Google "Kinsey Institute"). As I recall, they say average length is around 6.25" with an average girth of ~4", but my memory could be faulty.

Vandren's information is correct, though different surveys have slightly different results (Kinsey only surveyed white college males for the above numbers). Here's a link with the results of a few different surveys: Survey Results. I also saw another website that estimated the global average to fall somewhere closer to 5.2", and another that said 5"-7" was the average range that most men fell under.

Does it matter? No. Men are as self-conscious about the size of their equipment as women are about their weight. But there are people out there who appreciate all shapes and sizes - most people take into consideration the whole person, not just what's between their legs. Personally, I like average (anything in the 5"-7" range). Some women prefer larger, and some enjoy smaller. There's no standard number that's going to make every woman appreciate your penis. Sorry.

It always strikes me as a bit odd that men put so much of their self-worth into that relatively small part of their anatomy.

This is as big a controversy in sex as there is. And us men make it so. Personally, I've found women that have enjoyed sex with me did so for alot more reasons than my dick. For good sex, you need a good mental connection as well as the physical attraction. For great sex, love is key. The best sex I ever had was with a woman I was in love with. And we were very physically attracted to each other. And our minds were always a big part of it, as we acted out fantasies together and used them to drive each other crazy. Agreeing with everyone (Wow! *s*). But especially this comment. I've found it to be true as well (being average in length, but 1.5x average in girth, myself).

I am definitely in the range of average, but never had any complaints as a very sexually active person. Well, there was this one woman who was about 6'2" tall who had incredibly deep insides, so maybe there IS that once in a while need for a "big one".

you're comparing apples to oranges... as you described it yes sizes doesn't matter, but with all other things equal, size does matter. I understand that size doesn't make for a great lover, but a great lover with an 8" penis will prolly bring more pleasure that one with a 5" penis.

The correct way is to measure from the top. This is how Kinsey and most other survey's do it. It is also the most consistent way of measuring. Anyone who measure from the bottom is just trying to inflate his own ego.

I wouldn't believe most of what people say on the internet, especially when it comes to penis size. Personally I don't understand the fascination with size men seem to have. I get off far more frequently and enjoy it far more with clitoral stimulation, and size has nothing to do with that. Many of Kinsey's studies have since been proven to be flawed... Many within a decade of the original research.

IMO- you're average. That's definitely not small or too big. It's a perfect size!

I dont care what size my penis is because it is what it is and I can't do anything about it. Lets say if the average size is 6" and you are 4", does it really matter and if it does, what are you going to do about it?

Maybe you will tie a string around the head of your dick and tie the other end of the string to a bed post and then take a few steps back to stretch your penis? Will that make it longer? How about those pills that are supposed to increase the size of a mans penis?

Bottom line: if I am below average there is nothing I can do about it so why lose sleep over it.
