It is the last day of submissions to the 2019 Summer Lovin' contest so I have started this thread now for those authors who take some time to get writing.

Halloween
themes: scary stuff, costumes, Halloween traditions (trick-or-treating, etc.), etc.
starts: October 2
closes: October 23
winners announced: October 30

As usual, this thread is to SUPPORT and ENCOURAGE authors to enter stories in the 2019 Halloween Contest. Get your characters dressed up. scared, and sexy.

There is an advantage to entering stories in one of Literotica's themed contests, apart from the possibility of winning, and that is that your story gets far more exposure and attention than it would normally do.

Some of that attention might be unwelcome, some abusive, but some could be appreciative and helpful.

I have one started but I'm not feeling it at the present. I'm not much into scary. Things that go bump in the night is more my speed.

Mine’s done. I’m currently thinking about a Holiday Contest piece. :)

This used to be my least favorite theme, but it’s gotten me out of two long stretches of writer’s block. It forces me to be imaginative.

I also have one done, except for editing. I can't write scary sex, but at least costumes play a large part in this one, unlike my entry last year, which admittedly was pushing the limits of what fits in the Halloween contest.

Funny, after my dismissal of that Halloween thing I've actually got an idea for a story that will go in Sci-Fi. It's pretty short - only about 2000 words and only mentions Halloween once. It'll probably sink like matter into a black hole...

I'm about a third of the way done with mine. I'm having a hard time making it scary, though; it's definitely more of a 'suspense' story at the moment.

I dug out one started as a erotic horror experiment 3+ years ago. The end was good when I re-read it; now it just needs a beginning and a middle.

Mine often aren’t scary at all. Lighthearted stuff is fine, provided it involves Halloween.

For once, I've got mine out of the way. Trying now to get rolling on a couple of winter ones.

Well, I started to reread mine and suddenly I added about a thousand words. Now I see the end and it ain't what i had in mind when i started the thing.

I'm not sure whether this will fly with readers or not.

About 3/5’s in and 30k words done. I don’t have the clearest idea for part 4 though so I’m kinda writing this one in spurts.

I’m thinking this is going to be my last story for awhile. You know it’s been therapeutic, you don’t really get to talk about sex much in the civilized world and having an artistic way to channel my thoughts on it has been pretty freeing. I also think my stories have matured over the course along with my thoughts and feelings (though sometimes to lower scores) but I think I might have to grow a bit more before I have anything else to add.

September’s going to be a hard month to find time to write but hopefully I find an opportunity to squeeze 20k words in and edit 50k.

I had two ideas for the contest, a long and a short one. Taking TxRad's advice I started on the short one, which is now maybe halfway done. Depends on if there's anything unexpected waiting around the corner that will add a few thousand words more. At this pace, I'm not sure I'll even get to my longer story idea, but at least this one should be done well in time for the contest. I'll worry about the other idea later. That one's not really tied to Halloween specifically as it just features werewolves, so I guess I could just post it as a regular story later anyway.

I have a couple of ideas I've been kicking around, but I am not sure if I'll be able to get to them.

The only idea that occurs to me is putting one character into a T Rex costume and seeing how in the world the logistics would work. Although it would entertain me, I'm not sure anyone else would go for it.

Well I had a Halloween story idea and it’s flying..

"What Ho lads!" Bertie bounced out of his sports car and peered at the sky. "It looks like that Chloe lass has finally got her Halloween novel off the ground."

Biggles sauntered over and placed a loving arm around his aristocratic friends waist. "Yes, and about time too. I hope she's given the engines a good tune. With the headwinds she'll face going over the Box Mountains I fear the finish line may be beyond even her skilled hands."

Bertie squeezed his chums firm buttock "Oh, I'm sure she'll be ok. Chloe's a very capable pilot. Box Mountain will be fine. I hope she stays away from the Dogs of Walmart. They could be too distracting." He turned slightly and kissed his friend on the cheek. "Tea time, I believe."

I am now almost done with my first draft. It's about 11k words, which is about right. I expect the revisions will remove some but add some. I'm not happy with Act II right now, and I think I need to add some more foreshadowing...

Alas, no. Inspired by Goblin Market by Christina Rossetti.

Mine is finished. Now to let it marinate for a week or so and then I can edit and stuff.

I started mine last night. The list of non-English euphemisms for sex spawned a plot goblin.

I have two already completed and waiting but last night an insistent plot bunny started another.

Still need to finish the final sex scene on mine and give the story a proper ending... But another story is demanding my attention right now and since the deadline is still far off, I've decided to focus on that one for a bit.
