Phalo's Sketches 2

This is a painted sketch. Pretty old (okay, very old... 1988...)

I love the colors!...this painting is wonderful! The shadows on her breast are believable...

It feels like fine art.

Thanks Frozenfire! Here's a newer painting, with a detail shot. Are you beginning to sense the kinds of images that fire my imagination? Slurrrp.

Edit: These two images keep disappearing from the thread. What's that all about? This is the second time I've "reattached" them.

Jeezuz dude...these are so lifelike, and yet it's not photorealism...they feel more punchy and immediate than that!

Edit: Your siggy is one of my favorite drawings by you!

Thanks Kcar, that means a lot coming from you :) I use photo-reference regularly, but I'm not really interested in photorealism. Reference lets you get those little odd details that make an image convincing. Plus it trains your eye for the pieces where you don't use it (like the older painting you mentioned above).

The image in my sig is also an older piece. I like it too... it has a "living" quality that I like a lot. I wish I still had the original, all I have is a crappy xerox.

I so need to hire you for some comics!

How do you go from a written idea to a comic layout?

And how much would you charge?

I'm planning to do some pornographic/erotic comix - I prefer working from prose unless you have experience scripting sequential storytelling.

I haven't posted anything in here yet, been pretty busy, mostly doing studies, but if you have anything written I'd be happy to look at it.

Oh, sorry to hijack your thread Phalo, good stuff, keep it up, can't wait to see more.

Thanks guys,

Here's another quickie
Hi Phalo - I couldn't but wonder if you would share some of your more GP images with these people ( http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=287610&highlight=mermaid ).
I am a newbie here and hope I am not either being criminally naive or way out of line for suggesting it, but that mermaid doodle, and the general quality of your work as I see it evinced in this thread I am looking through, makes me want you to share with any forum which features artwork.
Regarding resizing - there is a Microsoft resizing tool that is freeware - of course if you are a Mac person then this is moot.

Thanks for the link, Kramus, there are some nice images there. As I've noted earlier, this really is just something I'm doing on a whim, so I doubt I'll get around to posting elsewhere, but feel free to send your friends on Wetcanvas here if you think they'd be interested.

Here's one more before I return to full lurking mode.

Phalo~
I LOVE that one!
I can relate.

lurk less and post more, please.

I absolutely love your work, both style and subject. Do you have an online gallery or anything? I'd love to see more.

How do you feel about Bridgeman or Azpiri? I see alot of fluidness in you like I do in them. I trid to study both when I used to draw, but then I got more influenced my comic book artists (I read too many) and now I'm just too busy to draw, but I still love to look!

Keep it up!

Phalo,

I just recently joined the forum and other than a story, yours is the first post that I have commented on. Outstanding work! A true pleasure to view and fantasize about. A true talent.

Good afternoon, Literoticans,

I don't know how many of you play World of Warcraft, but it's one of my guilty pleasures. I have had some extremely erotic moments, playing the game, one of which inspired today's sketch: "Waiting in Auberdine."

I'm an avid WoW player and I can totally relate. All the night elf areas are so far from everything else. I love your linework btw.

it must be an incredible turn on to sketch and paint such erotic images! Wow!

Thanks guys. For me drawing is the ultimate turn-on (outside of the real thing, of course). As someone else mentioned, it's hard not to get so distracted you can't draw

I know a lot of folks who have been caught up in affairs with their models. I can imagine why.

Agreed.
Most of the time, I am "down to business" when drawing from life... but there have been a few occasions when the intimacey of studying every detail has gotten to me. Or on the rare occasion when I have made eye contact (and held it... the gaze  )... YIKES that was heady!

I wrote and illustrated a story about one instance and even posted it, but came to my senses and took it down.
