get some conversation going on the HT.

Thats EJ's decision. Or eilan's. Or someone else's.

But not mine.

Thats way too much pressure.
I just want to see streaking, dammit! I don't care who does it, when it's done, or how it's done. As long as it's done. :D

But I wouldn't have called a $160 bet with an off suit J-7.

i would've limped in with those pocket cards but taht's about it... maybe double the big blind if i had a good feeling about it. i SURE wasn't even gonna consider it for $160+. the point, of course, was that if i HAD called it i would have won... much like if the titanic HADN'T sunk, you'd have had your newspaper headline. ;)

is your game tomorrow the day game or night game? i see one at 2pm and one at 8pm but haven't checked who's where.

*sighs* I don't like boy talk. Lets talk girl talk.

i ran into a brunette from sweeden today... i didn't know sweeden had brunettes and she went so far as to say she was "a brunette with brown hair." redundancy rampant in sweeden i guess.

anyway... i met her while playing poker online. ;)

ok, that titanic reference went WAY over my head

yeah, we play at 4. you only have one 10pm game scheduled so far...not too bad.

sorry... sometimes my mind doesn't function at full capacity either. lol.

if you're game is at 4, why is there one in my tv book listed for 2??? maybe they're doin' 2hrs of pregame shit or it's a mistake i guess. fuckin' tv book bastards.

the pattern is 2-2-1, right? so we'll be in CA/IL for two, then NY/MA for 2, then back to CA/IL if necessary... that sounds kosher to you, right?

DITTO! in this age of ADD, ADHD, AADD, et al... i find this to be VERY reassuring.

So, where is everyone?

here we are.

looks like bad things happened in the late innings of an otherwise fantastic game in chi-town today. meanwhile, on the west coast, my guys just gave up a dinger to molina. 4-1... time to see if we can get the ball to rivera.

Scalywag said:
clement gave up 5 in the first inning and 8 by the middle of the 4th. sucked from the start.

i must've heard wrong then... sorry 'bout that. i was told it was tied 2-2 for quite a while... apparently i was told wrong.

looks like my guys won. not puttin' a lot of stock in that since we won game one the last time v. angels... but at least mussina was sound. colon had some serious fire but i insist that a fastball only works for so long against a power-hitting lineup. that lead in the first was all it took, thankfully.

biggest downside of the game: tim mccarver... if he and joe morgan stopped doing color commentary i'd be a happy, happy man. i can't stand those guys... i SOOOOOOOOO can't stand those guys.

Scalywag said:
Yeah, I was surprised at how well Mussina pitched. But I guess that's typical of him. I've always thought he has an incredible ability to focus.
and he has a great ability to adapt to his situation. of course, if your arm hurts, there's only so much adaptation you can do. we were lucky he was in good shape last night... it could've been much uglier.

McCarver on the other hand, just shut up. I liked him years ago when he first started doing color, but it got old fast. I don't like Jim Palmer either.
mccarver and morgan always act like they know more about managing a ball team than anyone who ever walked the earth... and they're VERY anti-AL. if they really knew that much about the game, why aren't they managing somewhere for more money than they can get in the booth???? and, amen brother... jim palmer is a GIANT pain in the ass.

the best game i have seen in recent years (as far as commentary goes) was one that was on ESPN early in the season. they had (stick with me because i so can't get names out of my head at the moment) the veteran tubby bald guy from ESPN... the guy who used to do the swamy bit... and a retired pitcher who also does commentary on rare ocassions. they just made the game FUN. there wasn't any criticism, no 2nd guessing... just good commentary... they had fun and it made the viewer have fun too.

god... i am so tired of hearing about sports! all my boyfriend and his friends do is watch them/ play madden 2005/ or talk about them because his best friend wants to be a sports announcer or something... blah... no more

You must mean chris berman. He is fun, but sometimes I wonder if he went out for drinks with tommy heinson and john madden before the broadcat. was the bald guy joe garagiola?

YEAH! them's the two! the best pair of commentators i've EVER heard... radio or tv. i don't want to hear about what someone SHOULD do or how something could have been DIFFERENT. i want to hear two guys talk about the game like they actually enjoy the fuckin' thing.
