If you like someone on Lit, but suspect they may not be what they seem, do you continue interacting with them, keep them at cock’s length, or shut down completely?
I definitely take a step back until I have a better idea of what Im dealing with. Are they a completely fabricated persona or did they tell me they were into kinky sex but they were just into a little choking?
I think the bigger issue (like one of the ladies had posted in another thread) is when you turn someone down and they take it as a challenge to create a new profile and try again.
Do you put on your deerstalker cap and pull a Sherlock Holmes and try to get them to slip up?
Not generally. I might look to see how they interact with others. But I dont want to waste my time that way.
What do you think is the actual psychology of someone who pretends to be someone they are not? This is kind of a fantasy site after all.
Not a clue. Entertainment... Loneliness... Manipulation? I mean there is a variety of excuses Im sure.
Have you ever felt like you had lead someone astray and had to confess that they seemed to think you were something you’re not? Sexually, physically, emotionally?
Yes, emotionally to an extent. I think it was mainly that we had different expectations of lit. He wanted a girlfriend. I wanted a play partner.
Will you risk making a fool out of yourself pursuing someone who excites you sexually even though you suspect that person may not be what they say?
I have before. But I try my damndest to not repeat that mistake.
Is a boner or bean blaster any less arousing if you learn that it was from someone who isn’t what you thought?
Yes. Like I said I back off so I doubt we are having any fun kind of chats.
Isn’t it kind of like when you read a really hot and steamy story and imagine the author is the perfect man or woman only to find out that they’re kind of
?
Not at all. My author isn't actively lying to my face through one on one chats.
What if that sexy person is an author and stumbled into the forums to do “research” as a man or woman (opposite of what they are) for sexy story writing purposes?
Why not have that in your profile? Why hide it? You are still leading people on whether its for "research" or not.
What is the one thing you would like to ask someone who pretends on Lit?
Why? What purpose does it serve?
What perception about you do you think people generally have that you would like to clear up?
I've heard of a few recently.
They can keep their perceptions or they can be an adult and ask me about it.
