The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Very old horse staring off to the Southwest in winter, in the winter of his time here. Some people would consume themselves in pity for having lost him. I prefer to think that we still have him and are grateful for the time we got to pet his nose, feed him apples, visit with him and admire his very heavy winter coat.

Bon voyage, LaFitte!!!
Lafitte was watching the spirit horses in the field...now he can run with them.... rest easy sweet baby

No. It's go into a '47 Packard coupe. The six-banger was maybe a 3500 pound car. You can put the early 50s engines into the older cars, but it doesn't work the other way around. But I have two 1954 rust buckets, and since welding is in my box of tricks now, I may go ahead and cut the motor mounts out of those cars and see about welding them into the coupe. Reason is, I'd like to use an old Ford GT 5-speed transmission (more gears and overdrive), and that'll only have 1 transmission mount unlike the old Packard trans with 2 mounts.

TDK is having a running fit.
Tdk has the zooming

Is this the Packard you just bought that will get this engine?

I hard a mildly weird evil ish laugh in my head......vroom.

Something like that. I have read some Ford flathead hot rod/souping up books to see what the flathead motorheads have done. I need to relieve the block for a bit more air flow and put in bigger valves. I know that there's a cam company in CA that can do me a three-quarter race grind. The solid lifters from the little engines will work. It might get expensive to get a set of rods and Pistons made that are lighter than the ones that come with it. Then there will be the fabrication of a good set of dual exhaust headers. Lotsa fun!!!

Very cool

Got in late, fed, went to bed, get up and the resident vampire is still up! Even as the suns rays crested the trees…some kinda superpower this woman has?😳

Anyhow, MZ is now AZ…keeping it short due to prep for soda bread making for the big feast. Everyone have a great lead up to the wishbone pull!

Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving 🦃
For those not celebrating this weekend... I hope you celebrate the weekend.

Hope everyone gets to eat some of their favorite foods - without paying a toll. :ROFLMAO:

I'll be popping in and out now until early-ish next week sometime.

Okay, but then I have to find someone who both wants a turkey and has freezer space for one.

But yes, if you're in the market, those are nice incentive programs that can help save a few bucks. My mom always did those - back when we had so many people at the house we needed a 20 pound turkey, a 10 pound ham, and all the trimmings and sides. Then pie after. Those were the days! Good times - good memories

This year I'm cat sitting for a friend. Dinner tomorrow will likely be chicken and rice (very plain) - eaten standing up. Because 🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛ :ROFLMAO:
