There are a lot of sensations involved with breastfeeding and I miss many of them. Is pain one of them? Yes it is.

I didn't like the pump I attempted to use at all. I think they may have improved in the time since then, after all it's been like 13 years or so.

At times when I was full of milk my breasts hurt and felt rather like vacuum packed bags of coffee, all hard and such.

Mostly it was a time full of good sensations for me though. That's why I miss it. I miss knowing I was taking the best care of my kids, the natural way too.

I'm with you on the missing it part. I loved the feeling when actually nursing and I swear my breasts looked better than they ever have at any other time. My main problem was I used to leak lots...and I used pads (actually made my own in desperation out of several layers of towelling)...it was not unusual to discover I was leaking everywhere while going through the supermarket and having to move my bag over my chest to try and hide it and hope I didn't leave a trail.
