Oh, I agree. But @morelikeasong says they are the least interesting method. But a Hasselback, which is just a plain baked potato sliced differently, is delightful.
I believe I said that, of the list provided, they were the one I’d get rid of! They were the most boring of that list.

But I look at all potatoes with love and respect. A boring potato is still a potato and I fux wit it

The texture is TOTALLY different! And I'm a texture girl... I would know ;)
I completely I understand your point about texture. But if I mash a potato with butter on my plate, or I mash a potato with butter in a bowl, it’s essentially the same thing. The texture is different because of ingredients not mashing.

Just an opinion of course.

There is no similarity between a hasselback and a baked potato.

Baked potatoes are cooked by the steam that is produced inside and trapped by the skin. A Hasselback potato is essentially a potato centipede of fried potato slices, cooked by the butter that is tucked in at every cut.
