The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Packard had 2 inline 8s and a 6 to start in 1945 - same as pre-war. They dropped the little 8 for the 1948 model year and came out with 2 more. They dropped the big 8 in 1950 and made do with the 2 little eights.

Chebby had the venerable Stovebolt Six through 1954 and introduced the iconic small-block in 1955. Packard also introduced a OHV 8 in 1955. Problem was. Chebby was competing with Ford and Plymouth. Packard was competing with Cadillac who had OHVs in 1949, as did Oldsmobile. Chrysler came out with theirs a year or two later. Packard was in trouble and seemed to have lost their party invite. It's part of what killed them.
That was a sad ending for packard.

But definitely appreciate the history lesson!! Very cool!

You can't invest money as they are to obtain wins. There are so many variables in football. Injuries , not able to perform at a high enough level... etc. The NFL priced everyone out of attending get and is now gouging them with pay per views. B2 has it right. High school and College is a purer game. But we will see since they now pay college players.
Pro football is a bit of a hollow shell of what it used to be. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still the highest level of play for sure.

I’ve always enjoyed college football.

For years, while my bosses daughter was a cadet we will go to an army game every year. Every other year, I travel to Wisconsin with my old high school buddies and we go to Wisconsin college game. (Amazing atmosphere)

Locally here they have some really good rivalries. I think Lehi and Lafayette is one of the oldest continual rivalries and almost impossible ticket to get.

I went to one high school, and my daughter went to their big rival high school. That football game is always lot of fun.

Good Morning, everyone. This stupid cold is still in me. I was hoping it would dissipate over night, but no luck. I need to fish my mask out for my apt today. I can't cancel because she'll be leaving by the end of the week and this is a reschedule for missing my last one. No fever though. That is a plus. Enough of my whining. I hope everyone has a great start to their week!
Feel better impy!! Hope you’re on the mend soon.

1. No religion 2. No politics 3. No drama 4. This isn't a hook up thread. Our female friends are our friends and we do not make anything sexual here. If you’re looking to connect w someone sexually, this probably isn’t the place to do it
Sounds like exactly what I'm looking for. Too much of 1,2,3 EVERYWHERE else in life! 4 is perfectly fine with me. Happily married, kids, so not looking.

That may sound intimidating, but just step in and meet people respectfully as you would in real life.
Where are you joining us from?
I've seen some of yours and others posts here, so have a bit of an idea who's who. Maybe not all of you, tho...

I'm coming from the upper mid west, great lakes region. So very northern. We measure snow in feet, not inches! lol.

They even televised phillipsburg and easton every year.

Morning all.

I got some catching up to do. Last night we just went out and got two slices of pizza for dinner and we had a beer along with it while we watched the football game.

Normal till about an hour afterwards, I started getting a really really bad headache.

I don’t know if it was the beer or not, but it was so bad I couldn’t even sleep. Migraine worthy.

I feel a little better this morning. I’m working, but that headache is still hanging in there… not nearly as bad as it was last night tho.
Feel better soon.

Welcome aboard. It's a good group.

That was (and I imagine is) a huge rivalry. Ive actually never been.
It's so large they shut down the free bridge and they play it at Lafayette College. It's pretty bad because Phillipsburg has to cross the bridge every year and they only allow them to do it on foot they line the sides with cops from Phillipsburg Easton and then they bring in New Jersey and Pennsylvania State Police that gets so bad. The night before both of them have bonfires they spend a week getting all the old wood and pallets and just keep stacking them.

Welcome northern neighbor. I am from southeastern Michigan.

Jesus Christ. We were watching the Washington/Chicago game.

What an ENDING!!!!

Wow!!!!!!!!
As a dyed in the wool Redskin, er…Washington Football Team, er…Commando fan, that whole game was one for the ages. Shouldn’t have come to that as we got robbed on that TD that was called back. Anyhoo, I got to watch it as I was on 3rd shift last night. Then got to watch the cowgirls lose!🤣.

Always a good day when DeeCee wins and and Big D loses!

Hope all are dealing with Monday. Slept in, missed breakfast, so scrounging around the hotel here. Crappy in room coffee (how is it major US hotel chains have shitty coffee machines?) so typical Monday….hope yours is better!

Grey whale spyhop MZ…

Don't you feel Jerry Jones' profound satisfaction for having signed his QB to an oil fortune and looking at their record???

The Ravings have a severe issue if they're going anywhere further.
The networks religiously cut to shots of JJ when the Boys are winning and he’s grinning like a possum. They almost never cut to him when they’re getting trounced…that is until last night. They cut to him in the fourth after the 9er’s had salted it away and he looked like he was going to revisit his supper!😂. Nobody in the box with him…

Found out later as I’m working in Dallas this weekend, and they cover the cowgirls till the wee hours, that part of his motorcade going to the game got in an accident. His son and his wife were treated and released, so that may have been why he was alone…
