I speak of those who, instead of engaging with the substance of an argument, will prefer instead to whinge to others in an attempt to get that argument censored or, better still, have the source of it eliminated. To adapt a quotation from Austen: "The person, be it gentleman or lady, who has not pleasure in a good discussion, must be intolerably stupid." And here that stupidity is all too often inextricably bound up with sly, underhand practice, safe in the knowledge that there can be no comeback, unlike in real life.
Really, it does not smack all that highly of a self-assured or confident personality... or even an attractive one.
Perhaps people out there will bear this warning in mind when dealing with anyone advertising in Personals. 'Bye everyone. Account closed.
