Yeah, the Republicans have forfeited forever any claim to be "guardians of the Constitution." They have surrendered all of that to Donald Trump, their Messiah.

It’s a little late in the race to be rolling out a new message. The reason the race is considered a dead heat is because the Harris campaign has focused almost exclusively on “Trump is evil.”

The “insurrectionist” pitch didn’t work. The “Russian agent” pitch didn’t work. The “convicted felon” pitch didn’t work. The “weird” pitch didn’t work. This new pitch isn’t likely to change any minds either. Frankly, it reeks of desperation.

Instead of leading with the Orange Man Bad theme, Harris should have led with a positive message about why people should vote FOR her rather than simply AGAINST Trump. Happy but hollow talk about “joyousness” and an “opportunity economy” have not translated to a clear lead as her team had hoped. People are now voting, and many still feel they don’t know much about her.

The fact that some of the Democrats most hated Republicans over the past two decades like John Bolton and the Cheney’s are the new darlings of the Harris campaign is indicative of where things stand in this cliffhanger of a race.

I'm in that "historical" camp that schools me a simple lesson: Elections and conditions to not repeat.
