If I'm home alone, I'm often without clothes. It feels right, it's a little tantalising knowing that I've had neighbours standing and watching (especially when I've gotten nice and turned on for them), but mainly it's about that freedom.

Okay folks, big story here, regarding "what do you get out of nudity?"

As I said in my earlier post, I've been a closet nudist all my life. That other post was written before a monumental (and tragic) event changed my fortunes regarding this subject.

Anyhow, being a closet nudist, whenever the opportunity to strip off arose, I got rid of all that fabric. However, I never thought I'd be able to do anything but run around the house naked. My wife wasn't interested in it, was always afraid someone was going to see. Recently (and I'm not looking for sympathy here, necessarily), she passed away from cancer. It's been a really fucking emotinally traumatic week for me.

Anyhow, while the shitty week finally came to an end - not the way we'd hoped, but the way such things very often do, unfortunately - my sister-in-law offered to drive me home. We ended up in a hospital about sixty miles from home, because all local beds were filled with Covid patients.

Before we got on the road, I revealed that I was writing erotica. I'd written a story whose idea had come to me a couple weeks earlier, inspired by what was happening and the possible (at that time) outcome. This story should hopefully post out on the main site soon. She liked the story and said she was interested in reading some of my others, so I sent her the link to my story page.

As we got on the road, I thought it necessary to explain some of the stories. It led to a discussion of my sexuality and in particular, my feeling that I've always been more comfortable out of clothes than in them. Everything I told her, even the really kinky stuff, was met with no judgment. I admitted to her that I was telling her things that I'd never told anyone else and thought I never would.

Long story short, she told me that, yes, her sister, my wife, was gone. She loved her, and I sure as hell did, too. However, I was still here, and that I should take that unencumbered opportunity to explore who I am, sexually.

I'd been thinking about contacting the local nudist resort (only one in the state, and only 45 minutes away) when it looked like the end was inevitable, but my sister-in-law's encouragement was what I'd really needed.

When I got home, I checked the website for the resort and send them an email asking what their policy was regarding unaccompanied males. I waited all night, but in the morning, when there was no response, I couldn't wait and called. Lo and behold, there was no restriction on single males, as long as they obeyed all the resort's rules.

So, I got my ass there soon as I could. I waited at the gate to be let in, nervous and excited, then was waited on by an older lady in what was obviously some kind of throw-on thing for meeting new people. We got the paperwork taken care of and the day fee paid, then she told me she'd guide me to the parking area then give me a tour of the place.

When I got out of the car, she said I could get rid of my shirt, so I threw it in the car. I almost shucked the shorts, too, but she hadn't said anything about those. It's not a big place, the tour took no more than 10 minutes. She parked the cart at the main meeting building and announced that was the end of the tour, have a good time.

I got out of the cart and started toward the car to get naked. Two steps later, I stopped, thinking, "Why the hell am I still wearing pants?" Next thing, the shorts were around my feet and I was stepping out of them. For a few seconds I just stood there, the wind on parts of me that hadn't felt it before. This felt right. This is what I'd been waiting for all these years.

I spent the afternoon getting to know people and learned that they're some of the most open, least judgmental people you'll ever meet. The media typically portrays nudists as young, with perfect bodies and angelic faces. The reality is much different. You see every body type, fat, thin, scars, etcetera. The resort near me is a family resort, so the possibility of kids being in attendance was there, so the other stereotype of nudists, that they're always out for the next lay - is also false.

The majority of people were older than me. The younger folks were around my age, give or take (50s, pushing 60). Nevertheless, as the afternoon went on, I met some of these people and was instantly accepted. There was none of the suspicion and caution you get when you're introduced in the clothed world. It's like nakedness is the great equalizer.

After that one afternoon, I had a literal smile on my face all the way home. Plus, I couldn't keep my mind off what I'd just experienced. So, this morning at 9 AM, I was on the road again. I spent ten hours there today, and even joined for the remainder of their season (Midwest - nudity isn't a real good idea much past early October). I plan to get there as often as I can in the next few weeks, because it has helped me deal with with the tragedy that's just happened to me.

Nudity. It's something I've craved for so long. At least now I'm finally getting it. It feels right to me. It's what I was meant for...

This is an interesting question posed and I had to give it some thought about what I get out of being nude and naked.

It started, for me, with freedom of clothing. I worked hard at keeping myself fit at that time and enjoyed looking at myself. I know, that sounds egotistical.

I also discovered that I enjoyed the freedom of touching myself whenever I wanted.

The other benefits is less laundry to wash, better hygiene, better grooming habits.

Now, many years later of being naked when I am home it is just habit. I've gotten older, now I have the dad bod, I don't consider myself much to look at from my prime days. But I still keep up the habit as much as I can.

Almost 13 years ago I bought a farm/winery and moved there with my partner. He has no interest in agriculture, as he's a music video editor and works indoors. He also has a funny attitude to nudity, he'll happily have a skinny dip with me in our pool, but will wrap a towel around himself on the way back to the house. We have no neighbours in view, so it's totally private!

Over the years I have gradually embraced a naked lifestyle. To me it feels healthy and natural. Between spring and early autumn, I will head out into the paddocks wearing nothing but a pair of gumboots and a hat (and loads of sunscreen as I'm blonde and fair skinned).

I mostly work a reasonable way from the house, so it's just me and nature .... I bring a drink bottle, but there's no toilet, so I have to make do where possible. I end up totally filthy by day's end, but hey, there's no clothes to wash!

Things have become interesting in the past. Sometimes trades people will show up unannounced. I find it easier to either hide out in the field, or just pretend there's nothing to see here, walk past them into the house and put some clothes on. I will make a funny comment about being sprung and it's good for a laugh.

In Australia we harvest grapes in the warmer months so at times we have seasonal workers, mostly from overseas (although none during COVID, it was impossible finding people). It's nothing for them to show up on Monday instead of Wednesday, so I have often been caught out in the vines.

It's got the the point that I'm so immune to the feeling that I will sometimes just continue to work with them around me as though nothing's happened. They probably are trying to figure out why a pale, plump, middle-aged woman is trying to achieve!

And in case your wondering, none of them had ever stripped off with me (even though there's a few Brazilian guys that I could have done with)

Purist 'naturists' will say nudity has nothing to do with sexuality. Not me. Being honest it makes me absolutely horny, even the thought of it. I don't know why as 99% of the time, nobody can see me.

And here's me now half wondering what I'm even expecting from writing this. Temps have dropped for the next few days, and I'm really worked up, wondering whether I'll need to rug up today or brave it!

Nudity strips away all pretence, it's a great leveller.

So, it's getting into mid spring in Australia although we have had the odd cold snap. It's interesting that people from the city tend to not read signs at farm gates, asking visitors to please phone first before entering. Aside from biodiversity issues (and there are a lot), many people residing on properties do so for the privacy, including those of us that choose not to be clothed at all times. I find when confronted with a car pulling up my driveway, I act as if nothing happens - walk up and say hi, and then carry on the conversation naked. Men get a lot more awkward than women, but it's really not my problem. Although I may be a bit floppier and hairier these days, I still have the same things as other women have

My personal take on sunscreen is that from what i have read, skin cancer is the most diagnosed form of cancer in the u.s...and i personally believe that it has to do with 2 factors. 1) the money drug companies and hospitals get for treatments 2) the fact that sunscreen has been marketed as necessary for preventing skin cancer. The sun is good for u, unlike the chemicals that are slathered on people and just allowed to bake into your skin. There are millions of people in other countries that dont have the same accessibility to sunscreen, or have the money to buy sunscreen, yet they also dont have the skin cancer rates like we do here in america. Leads me to believe that it is just another example of how we spend money to make us sick, only to spend more money to try and get us well. But i am also not a doctor nor a scientist so take that for what its worth...which may not be much

What people who have these conspiracy theories, like yours, need to understand is EVERYONE involved in medical research - from Big Pharma Board Members to Scientists to Lab Techs to Docs and hospital staff - are losing their own wives, husbands and CHILDREN! to cancer AT THE SAME RATE as everyone else in the world!! They ARE NOT avoiding the development of cures because treatments are better for their 401K and their year-end bonuses. Ugh!

Go to a Children's Hospital and ask one of the Pediatric Oncologists whose treating children with end-stage Leukemia what they think of your theory that science knows how to cure or avoid Leukemia but won't because it's more lucrative to treat it! But step back because she's liable to slap you. And bear in mind some of the parents walking through the front door with ill children are doctors themselves! Again, cancer affects their lives too!

One of my close friends is a scientist has been working on a cure for Prostate Cancer his entire career and guess what? ..Five years ago he was diagnosed with having an agressive form of the disease himself. .Just like tens of thousands of other Americans. His pursuit of a cure - rather than more profitable treatments - is VERY real and VERY personal.

Melignant Melanoma is a highly treatable and curable form of cancer - it has >95% five-year survival rate PROVIDED it's caught early. ..But once it has spread to organs it becomes VERY difficult to treat and the survival rate plummets. AND using sunscreen has been proven to be highly effective at reducing the incidence of MM. Those are the facts from people who have the very same risk of losing family members to MM as you or I.

I love this question because I began exploring social nudism over the summer.
i visited a local nude resort / campground a few times and absolutely loved the experience. I agree that it was liberating to be around other naked people of all genders, ages and sizes - made me feel better about myself, in truth.
It wasn't neccesarily a "turn-on" in the sexual sense, it was more visually pleasing than anything. I consider myself a voyeur and enjoy seeing things that I perhaps "shouldn't", or what many Americans would consider societally taboo. In any event, I probably don't subscribe to the traditional naturist way of thinking ( it was a "family friendly resort and there were a few families there), but it did lead me to question if nudists are, in some way, exhibitionists at heart.
Does that then add a tiny layer of sexuality to the experience? Not sure, but I do enjoy it all the same.

The biggest problem for me, as an older single male exploring social nudism on his own, is how to make acquaintences without coming off as "creepy" (for lack of a better term).

Thank u bit i thinku completely missed my point. First, i specifically said im not a dr or scientist so im not basing anything but off my own personal observations. Skin cancer diagnoses is not that high in south america, africa or asia when compared to america. But those places also dont have as lucrative of markets in the health and beauty industry as america. The chemicals in most sunscreens arent natural and therefore not ideal to be absorbed into the skin, yet people slather it all over but then still blame sun exposure as the cause for their skin cancer. However, i look at the sun being the same sun shining in the aforementioned continents, where sunscreen is not as widely used, and the diagnosis of skin cancer is significantly lower. I personally draw the conclusion that one of the biggest factors to this is what is different that our skin is being exposed to and i see sunscreen. Now once again, feel free to take that info for what its worth. U do u. I dont doubt that research is being done to find cures, but have u ever heard the phrase " an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cures"? That is where i lean.

Well, the widespread use of sunscreen only hurts Dermatologists bottom-line because it means they will do fewer biopsies and Mohs Surgeries - a common procedure to remove skin cancers bit by bit until a clear margin is achieved.

Put simply: If >95% of Board Certified Dermatologists - who understand the possible dangers of chemical aborption from sunscreen - are STILL slavering their OWN children in sunscreen before sending them off to summer camp or the pool club...and wear it themselves before golfing or playing tennis... It's a fair bet that you and I should be using it too.
