"The personal qualities displayed by Trump in his reaction to the cost of the Guillén funeral—contempt, rage, parsimony, racism—hardly surprised his inner circle. Trump has frequently voiced his disdain for those who serve in the military and for their devotion to duty, honor, and sacrifice. Former generals who have worked for Trump say that the sole military virtue he prizes is obedience. As his presidency drew to a close, and in the years since, he has become more and more interested in the advantages of dictatorship, and the absolute control over the military that he believes it would deliver.

`I need the kind of generals that Hitler had,` Trump said in a private conversation in the White House, according to two people who heard him say this. `People who were totally loyal to him, that follow orders.'"

I'd agree with that too, PT. The man is off the rails so someone might pull a 25th on him within days. Is JD his Himmler? Is the 2025 Project ready to roll? They are and it doesn't matter who is in the Oval Office as long as it's an R. So, even if he has generals that are thinking along those lines, it doesn't matter. If he gets in, they're in—with the SCOTUS blessing. No crimes when you sit in there, you know!?

Most likely the highly successful Hans Guderian types...The ones who focus on the win and capitulation of enemy forces.

That compares with thr Politician, ticket puncher Generals of today who lose wars, make their troops fight with one or more hands tied behind their backs while running deep in red ink and the blood of our own troops with, little to show for it.

Trump calls them as he sees them

Beat me to this thread.

Also, this:
According to attendees, and to contemporaneous notes of the meeting taken by a participant, an aide answered: Yes, we received a bill; the funeral cost $60,000.

Trump became angry. “It doesn’t cost 60,000 bucks to bury a fucking Mexican!” He turned to his chief of staff, Mark Meadows, and issued an order: “Don’t pay it!” Later that day, he was still agitated. “Can you believe it?” he said, according to a witness. “Fucking people, trying to rip me off.”

Uneducated Deplorable racists like you often admire Hitler. :)

What exactly did I say? Don't read into it. Guderian was father of the Blitzkrieg...It worked repeatedly. My comments stand without any fundamentally flawed twisted liberal interpretation.

Maybe it would be better to have the kind of generals Stalin had? They won.

Trump did go to college, didn't he? One with required history courses?

Did Rommel support Hitler??
Would Erwin have been as respected as General Erwin? And yes, The Dessert Fox was a pretty good general.

Well, there were generals who weren't Nazis -- in fact, the only non-commercial organizations in Germany not completely taken over by the Nazi Party were the Army and the churches. Everything else was Nazified, even sports clubs and singing groups. It was called Gleischaltung -- "coordination."
