Sex & Shenanigans

I’m watching the Last of Us and I was asking my husband if it’s just a thing that everyone in a zombie apocalypse acts like a fucking idiot because I haven’t seen a single zombie thing where I thought the survivors were making good choices. But then I realized that the only zombie things I’ve seen are a bunch of Walking Dead seasons and now half of Last Of Us 🤣
EXACTLY!

I always watch these things and think, "why aren't people making better choices, long term?" I mean, in the outbreak? Run. To the mall, sure. Do whatever. Freak out. But after that? There isn't anything you can do to protect yourself? And The Walking Dead just drove me crazy with that. People banded together and came up with the same goals:

Agenda
1) Find a safe place.
2) Let's go cannibal and eat people.

The one I did enjoy was Max Brooks' (Mel's kid) World War Z. The novel, not the movie (but the audiobook is everything the movie should have been, with a far better cast. We're talking Alan Alda, John Turturro, Rob Reiner, Mark Hamill, Alfred Molina, Simon Pegg, Henry Rollins and Martin Scorsese among others.) But realistic survival methods, long term, like building houses on slick metal stilts the zombie's couldn't climb if they came wandering around. Really rather liked it.
