Just a casual list of songs that make me smile and / or think.

Just wanted to share and start a post where people can talk about music. Hopefully where you are and whatever you are facing today ... you can spend some time enjoying whatever music inspires you.

Here is a list (in no particular order) of some of the songs I have enjoyed recently...

Lykke Li – Dance, Dance, Dance

Ambar Lucid – Fantasmas

Depeche Mode – Somebody

Queensryche – Silent Lucidity

Mazzy Star – Fade into you

Blue October - Into the Ocean

Green Day – Wake me up when September ends

Favorite song that makes you drive faster and faster? "Radar Love" by Golden Earring. By the break, you're going way over the speed limit.

Is rock music dead?

No way… Spoon to me IS the rock band of the last twenty years. Some call them indie, but to me this just sounds like rock n roll.

I don’t think they’ve ever made a bare record/cd. They are great live. Just saw em a few weeks ago.

What do you think?

Been on an 80’s punk kick lately. Mostly west coast bands. DK, Agent orange, the minutemen, black Flagg, the germs, suicidal tendencies. Misfits. Some east coast. Dead boys, bad brains, MDC, minor threat.

55 and still fucking love how it pumps me up.

"Almost Paradise" from the original "Footloose" soundtrack makes me smile, thinking about sitting around a bonfire in college when a girl practically had to beat me over the head to make me realize she was interested in me. Yeah, I could/can be pretty dense.

I am so jealous you got to see them in concert. I hope you enjoyed them. Thank you for sharing that memory..

Bridge Over Troubled Water is my favorite song about friendship. It's a neglected subject in folk/pop/rock.

Forever young. As I sat outside today enjoying the breeze, it struck me how rare these quiet moments have become. Life is too short to constantly feel buried under stress. That’s why I started using ukwritings https://ukwritings.com/write-my-dissertation —they’ve been a huge help in lifting the writing burden off my shoulders. Now I get to enjoy these peaceful moments a little more often.
