Long pending time.

Hi,

Does anyone know if there is any kind of delay with pending stories. I've been waiting for a story to be published for over a week now.
I've not amended it or edited it in any way.
Any help or advice would be great!

There are many threads in the tech support forum about this. The answer appears to be that approval is unpredictable, but over a month is usually worth mentioning politely to Laurel.

A week is typical for a new writer, be patient.

If it horse beyond ten days, a polite PM to Laurel should break it loose. She probably won't reply, but your story should shift to New, or you'll get a rejection.

Use the DM/PM function here in the forums: the envelope icon (marked "Conversations" if you hover over it with your cursor) in the upper right-hand corner of your screen beside your username. Just address it to "Laurel".

They sent my story back because they thought it was AI. I didn't use AI for my story. I'm not sure why they thought it was. I sent it back to them stating that this was not written by an AI.

Same thing happened to me. I resubmitted it, telling them it wasn’t AI, but it’s still not been published. I’m losing hope that it ever will be now.

That totally sucks. Are they using like computers or something that don't understand what AI is to edit this? Because I've just been using word. And it was a good story!

There's a whole bunch of threads in the Authors Hangout about AI, with authors being suspected of using it for content generation, and things the site has done to detect it. It's settled down now, but for a year it so, it was a hot topic. makes for some interesting reading.
