I'm thinking about Lit friendships and trust. Should how I define a friend from Lit versus a friend in person be different?

No. There are a lot of two-faced people out there and sometimes it takes a longer time to see that other side of a person because of the anonymity of Lit. I feel that I am the same person on Lit as I am in person. Do I have bad days? Yes. Do I make other people feel bad because of it? I try not to. That's when I take a break.

Do lies of omission differ from outright lying. Should I be holding folks to the same level of accountability online as I do in person? Does being on Lit as a married person already say all that is needed about someone's trustworthiness?

I think it is different for everyone. Talk to the person privately if you feel a certain way. Passive aggressively talking about someone on a thread is just sad.

At what point should we expect honesty and how do we know if someone is being honest?

You should always expect the best out of people. In real life and online. If they give you less than that, let them go.
