Sex & Shenanigans

Okay… I normally won’t share my thoughts on this… but… you have decided to judge each other because of the color of your skin… the color of your eyes? Yeah? I don’t care. Blonde hair, brown hair, black hair, I don’t care. But skin color matters? Get the fuck out of here! I don’t care!!!! That means nothing.

But… no more theremins? Um… okay… but wouldn’t it be better to abolish accordions? Or maybe Chihuahuas. I love dogs, but those yapping little bastards don’t really qualify, right?

It's odd, right? Otherness always scare people. Tribal mentality. No matter how homogenous a tribe is, there's always something that sticks out, and people latch on to it... Take Japan for example: kids in some public school have to have black hair. If they don't, they have to dye it. Even if you're an immigrant or are of mixed heritage, if your natural color isn't black... Yeah.

1) I can't do an impression of an accordion
2) Accordions are incredible!

I can do an impression of bagpipes. Used to do a theremin, but I lost my embouchure...

I'm a life long insomniac. The first time I remember going days without sleeping I was only 7 or 8 years old. I envy people who sleep, and sleep solid through the night. It is a very rare morning I wake up bright eyed and refreshed.
I haven’t been a lifelong insomniac, but it’s been pretty consistent since my 20s. It gets worse when I’m really stressed.

I feel you girl  It's not been lifelong for me, started in my mid 20s and has come and gone in periods.. Have you done any sleep studies? I did one and they theorize I have a circadian rhythm a lot longer than 24 hours. Really fucks up when working steady hours, though vacations help a lot.
That’s a really interesting theory. Often the only time I get really good sleep is when it’s the weekend or vacation and after being up all night, I fall asleep sometime the next day/night. It feels so amazing when I get a solid 8-12 hours like that.

Did they suggest anything to help sleep better even with the longer circadian cycle?

Insomnia sucks

Unfortunately nothing I hadn't tried before. Go outside more to grab sunlight, try melatonin supplements, avoid all blue-shifted light (from screens etc). The usual same-old-same-old. Nothing really to be done about it.

I tried ambien for a while, and while it does knock me out I don't wake up rested. It's more akin to unconsciousness than sleep.
