I learned I have vitamin B 12 deficiency and low ferritin and a slightly elevated PSA number. A multivitamin is in the mix. I see a urologist soon about the PSA. View attachment 2388124
B-12 and ferritin are an easy fix. You could possibly take a pre-natal vitamin every day, depending on your levels. There are lots of iron containing foods. If you do take a supplement, take it with Vitamin C; it helps with absorption. Also make sure to eat enough fiber and drink enough fluids. Iron can be ... binding ... IYKWIM.

Thanks and know our nurse would help me. BTW they never told me to abstain from sex for the PSA test as understand it elevates PSA.

My old dog loves cooked carrots and sweet potatoes.

Actually this old dog does too😂
I can make you some! You gave me a great idea! I haven't made sweet potatoes in forever as my husband didn't like them. I love them just roasted or baked, not in the sickly-sweet casserole.

I'm putting them on my shopping (shooping) list! 🥰🍠

I don't know what the slightly elevated PSA is but mine was high. Good think I had it checked. I had a proctectomy and am still kicking. I was in surgery one day and out the next. I consider myself lucky since I did have prostate surgery and am 10 years out now.

I agree. Maybe an Ensure shake would help.
She would have to check the nutrition label. Adult women need 0.75 to 1 gram of protein per kg of body weight. Dividing body weight by 2 gives a rough approximation of kg wt. A 150 lb woman would need about 60 to 75 grams of protein daily. This is the base amount. Men need more. If you work out strenously, you would need more.

I am constantly telling my wife this - she needs more protein. She takes really good care of herself, but I am not sure why she rolls her eyes at me whenever I bring it up… 🙄🙄

Any suggestions, gang? 😂
