All Gold Star families should at least have our sympathy, even if they support Trump (or, conversely, Biden). And their family members who died in service of our country also deserve our utmost respect and honor, even if they supported Trump (or Biden). I only said we had to sympathize with them for their own losses. Respect is a different issue entirely. As in, "I'm sorry for the loss your fallen loved one. We honor him or her for their service. As for that self-indulgent, disrespectful, and potentially illegal photo op crap that you pulled with Trump..."

I was referring to those shameful comments. That's a sad commentary.

Well, by now, it should be obvious (to everyone but you) that Trump is generally amoral, without any ethics, corrupt, and self- serving.

And this is not the first time, nor the second, (or even the third) that he has openly disrespected military veterans.

So, at this point, I think it is more than fair to question the values, and the ethics, of people who, knowing exactly who and what Trump is, continue to support him.

As for being "Traitors," after the Jan 6, 2021 insurrection, it is alarming that Trump is even still a viable political force. If Kamala Harris and her supporters pulled that shit, they'd all be in prison along with her- and rightfully so. I watched the events of that day with sick horror, and the memories of Sept 11, 2001 were still fairly vivid; and to me it was exactly the same feeling. Sick dread, and a wish to see those responsible held accountable.

After that day, I found it shocking that any so-called loyal patriotic American didn't feel like Trump belonged in prison- rather than the White House.

So yes, I understand exactly where Lazaran is coming from, and I don't find those comments at all to be shameful or sad.

I dunno... I was reluctant to comment on this particular thing on the whole situation because I thought that maybe for me it was just a remnant of southern culture, post slavery, voodoo fear and respect superstition, but the community I grew up in were taught to pull their cars over for a funeral procession and we had a whole crazy list of things to do in order to properly pass a cemetery, and if we happened to find ourselves in one - we could never walk on top of a grave.
Things change I guess.
