Sex & Shenanigans

Sure. But, again, I think there’s a larger trend at play when it comes to gaming. And there are certain factors that make something more likely to be addicting/consuming than others. Never heard anyone complain that there partner is so consumed with bird watching that they are aren’t showing up as needed. That doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist, but its probably much less common an issue.
Oh, yeah, some things are more inherently addictive than others, and gaming seems to check those boxes a lot more than others.

But the issue we had with the list in question was the implication that playing video games was a bad thing full stop.

Golf widows, fishing widows, car widows, knitting widowers… pick a hobby and all of them can lead to time away from the marriage. All depends on time management and care of marriage.
I don’t disagree. But I still stand by my original statement.
And also… I’ve never heard anyone complain that there partner neglected them for knitting. Nor cars, but I’ll admit I don’t think I know anyone with that hobby. Reading, I have heard.

I think some hobbies are more likely to be consuming than others. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Any hobby is hot as fuck as long as the person is passionate about it, and it doesn't affect others negatively (online trolling's a hobby now??)

Magic is sexy as fuck! The amount of dedication and time that goes into perfecting a magic trick is swoonworthy

Shin is amazing.
And so is Hannibal. Only a couple videos of him that I found, but they’re worth the watch

I think because some hobbies you can still do while interacting with someone… like knitting

Penn and Tellers reaction to his first appearance on Fool Us...!!! They were just stunned. He's incredible! Sorry, who's Hannibal? Only Hannibal I know is Buress.

I have a friend whose boyfriend is a greaser. Yes, the greaser subculture survived in Sweden, and they're called Raggare. He spends almost all day every day in his garage, tinkering with his car, and most of his extra cash goes into it too. He travels to so called "meets" like Powermeet where a whole bunch of greasers hang out with their cars and.... Honestly I have no fucking clue what they do. They drive around.

That’s me. Give me a good fiction novel (especially if it’s a new one I’m getting into) and I can sit there for hours.
I get so focused the world disappears and you’ll have to say my name more than once to draw me back out of the world I’m watching inside my head

Yeah, gear head culture is a big thing here too. Car shows and cruise ins and meet ups. The US fetishizes cars, and especially classic ones.

YouTube Hannibal sleight of hand and you’ll find it.
His beard is amazing too 😂
Watched his take on the cups and balls! Dude's hilarious, amazing flow, surprised I haven't seen him on Fool Us! Although I've seen the cups and balls so many times I caught his tricks, he was still super fluid  Gonna watch more of his stuff later tonight.. Thanks for the tip!

Well, with the money involved, there is a whole science to making games as addictive as possible. The are timed, the rush is measured and graded, the level of endorphins released with each encounter designed to generate more money. Casual games and all of the others as well. It is fascinating and terrifying.

There are 2 types of Raggare here... One who loves the pseudo-50s aesthetic and their DeSotos and whatnots, they're cool. They're fun to hang with. They're passionate as fuck about the cars and the music and the hair.

Then there's the other kind. The ones who love getting shitfaced and the literal meaning of the word; Ragga is a crude verb for picking up chicks. Raggare is someone who picks up chicks. They're assholes. Absolute horse shit people.

Some people call them Redneck Cosplayers.

There are a lot of subsets within US gearheads too. Do you get street racers? That one is in the news a lot, with street takeovers and the like, which then builds intrest leading to more street takeovers and the like.
