The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

They get on me, charge at me, stalk me and make webs to me. It's ridiculous to the point others comment on it, and some are huge! I had a talk with them, and told them that if they do this in my house, I will kill them. Most have listened. but there have been about 4 in 35 years that I have had to take a stand with. poor creepy crawlers

That damned kitten likes killing bugs. She would save you.

Assuming that she felt like it, of course.

Mine play with them and then quit when they are bored :cautious: They were chasing one of the nuclear flyers once and gave up. I had to put my big girl pants on to kill it. Praying the entire time that it wouldn't fly at me. Prolly the only thing I miss about the ex. He would kill them the few times they got in the house.

Are you going to make your own ammo with machining? (am I allowed to ask that here?)

Yes, you may ask it, and yes, I shall answer you. I can already reload ammo. Parts are still fairly readily available and the tools aren't complex. So the machining is for old car stuff and farm stuff. I plan to have a decent shop set-up one day. I already have 4 good car projects and one in particular will require all manner of labor, talent, and tools.

TDK is a delight to watch chasing bugs. She goes after the flyers, too, keeping her eyes on the prize and using both paws. She's reasonably successful.

Right now, she is sitting in a box.

Mom got through her eye procedure with flying colors. She drove herself to and fro.

Appetizer: chilled sliced tomato with salt, pepper, Dash, and a big daub of Hellman's.

I didn't think about that. My cousin machined ammo for his machine pistol looking one (still can't think of the name of it) that was so obsolete he couldn't find ammo for it. He said "they aren't for looks, Red, If I have it, I'm going to use it"

That’s a shame that you could try the shop classes at all back in the day…

And also now, that you’re allergic to the smells… 🙁
Right? I like some of the smells, too.

Now, the smells are my early warning system. My tornado siren if you will. I can still react whether I smell it or not. But if I smell it, that's my sign to GTFO

Glad she got there and home safe. Guess her cuz backed out?

What does TDK stand for? Stella is sitting in the bring your own grocery bag, bag.

No sad faces for this. I have no problem going out without anything but mascara. That is how I've been my entire life. I wouldn't have the patience to sit and put makeup on anyways :)
I never got in the habit.
Hard to find brands that didn't irritate my skin or contact lenses back when I was old enough & had permission from mom/dad. Too nearsighted w/o contacts/glasses to apply it. 🤷‍♀️ Bothered other people more than me tbh

I
My Jr High School was different than most. We lived on the beach and had many different electives. I wish I would have taken surfing. I took drafting, welding I and II. HS I took woodshop all three years.

I still have the comforter stand that I made. It's like a quilt stand but larger. I have my shelf in the garage that I won a prize with. I had a coffee table that I made with strips of wood glued together but I messed it by not gluing the grains right. I had that forever just because it was cool looking. I painted the strips rainbow :ROFLMAO: It was so bright. It eventually warped because of my mess up, but it still was our coffee table for many years with different roommates. I built my closet shelves in my walk in closet.

I haven't done woodworking in a long while but that was my hobby for a minute. I used to have a full shop except for a wood lave. I ended up selling most of it years ago. I still have a bandsaw but I need to fix it. It's old school, so it's big.
thats awesome! Your super independent and can-do!!!!

Smells are also a way to bring you back. My sister loves going to our shed at the farm. It’s a combination smell of gas, oil, and lawnmower and farm parts. Maybe dead grass smell.

She sez it smells exactly how our shed smelled when we were kids.

that's awesome!! Got pics of your wood working?
There's a wood worker (one of many, I'm sure) by the name of tarynbuilds on IG. Some really interesting pieces IMO

I'm too nearsighted to try surfing. But my dad put us all in swim lessons. After the 3rd time I nearly drowned (slight exaggeration) in gym class playing water polo, I made a deal with the teacher.

Spent the rest of the swim cycle teaching the inner-city kids some basic water safety and things like floating and sculling. Basically, How To Stay Alive And Not Freak Out That You're In Water When You Can't Swim 101. Loved it.

I only started wearing mascara to prevent people asking me if I actually have eyelashes. They are really light red. I used to tell them no, but then they'd look really close and comment on the length. I wanted to blow in their face. People just annoy me sometimes.
