The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

I took two welding classes in Jr high school. We had such better choices for electives back then. Something soothing about getting the beads lined up
Things were different when I was in HS.
Wasn't allowed to take shop class. Was allowed to take HomeEc 🤢 Shop class was used for low performing and problem students. Those deemed to have "a future" were not admitted to shop.

I was lucky enough to take a woodshop class in 8th grade at neighboring elementary school. Made a table that I used until a few years after college graduation. that was a fun class!

My Dad pressured me to take debate and other worthless classes when I wanted to take woodworking and auto shop. I can rebut your statement but I can’t cut a straight line if I had to.

:ROFLMAO: Yeah - I was encouraged to try Forensics (not CSI). It was like Debate+
So I did all that but still wanted to learn how to rebuild a car engine or weld or woodwork (did that table at least).
Now I have strong allergic reactions if I'm around fresh cut wood or shavings and any of the solvents used in a mechanic bay. So it's not an option. Last oil change they kindly set a chair outside for me. Even double-masked I could not breathe in the waiting room with all the chemicals in the shop that day.

I won't let anyone kill spiders here. They eat the bad bugs. Any spiders found inside the house are relocated outside.
They get on me, charge at me, stalk me and make webs to me. It's ridiculous to the point others comment on it, and some are huge! I had a talk with them, and told them that if they do this in my house, I will kill them. Most have listened. but there have been about 4 in 35 years that I have had to take a stand with. poor creepy crawlers

I know enough about the show to understand there were a lot of characters but not enough to know a single one by name.
Father Jim (Jim “Iggy” Ignatowski the survivor of one too many pot brownies (and probably a a little bit of LSD), played by Christopher Lloyd. An acid casualty.

Louie the crabby cab dispatcher with all kindsa NY attitude. (Danny DeVito).

That’s the class I had to take. If I tell people the name of it they are trying to figure out what debate has to do with CSI 🤣

I saw the post back around 1001…yep Springsteen (although MMEB sort of made it their song!). Manfred drug the Deuce out to Doooooche…😂. Still bad ass song and the soundtrack of my youth.

Finished simulations today, so have the rest of the day off! No more 03 hundred wake-ups! Till the next time…🙄.

Time for some serious Morning Z…

Did TK pass? 😮
So does anyone else think this picture looks like a big open mouth with teeth and drool?

That’s a shame that you could try the shop classes at all back in the day…

And also now, that you’re allergic to the smells… 🙁

I have some, but it still doesn't work well. I use it for Dress Up days when I go out for functions. It wears off quick and my skin doesn't like it.
No sad faces for this. I have no problem going out without anything but mascara. That is how I've been my entire life. I wouldn't have the patience to sit and put makeup on anyways :)

My Jr High School was different than most. We lived on the beach and had many different electives. I wish I would have taken surfing. I took drafting, welding I and II. HS I took woodshop all three years.

I still have the comforter stand that I made. It's like a quilt stand but larger. I have my shelf in the garage that I won a prize with. I had a coffee table that I made with strips of wood glued together but I messed it by not gluing the grains right. I had that forever just because it was cool looking. I painted the strips rainbow :ROFLMAO: It was so bright. It eventually warped because of my mess up, but it still was our coffee table for many years with different roommates. I built my closet shelves in my walk in closet.

I haven't done woodworking in a long while but that was my hobby for a minute. I used to have a full shop except for a wood lave. I ended up selling most of it years ago. I still have a bandsaw but I need to fix it. It's old school, so it's big.
