Well that is the start of my day at the computer, just as the sun starts to shine. By the time I finish it will be raining again. I am away to visit my daughter tomorrow so a lot of driving and most likely won’t be in the bar much. I know you guys wil behave (sort of) and keep loving and supporting each other while I am away.

The city has installed speed control humps in a lot of roads, and it does seem to help. They have also added signage, too. I was riding Sunday and I do tend to go fast to get away from cars and damned near raced over one of them. Fortunately, very good brakes and good reactions prevented it, but it did amuse me. Unlike the asshole who changed lanes on top of me, but I indicated to him that he's number one in my book.

I have to get my air compressor out and blow the pipes to keep it from filling with water every three months. It is about time for that

I have a neighbor who has a heat pump. I need to ask him how it’s going. It might help me with my heating and cooling bills.

That's what we have. It works really well. I'm very glad for it during the 90+ days!

If we are going there, I prefer to do that much more often than 3 moths. It's relaxing, I'd probably do that every day. Poor poor guy when that chance finally happens. I already know the flouriest I will use to send flowers to his family..

I am old enough to remember my childhood when we did not have AC. In the middle of the day you found shade and did nothing. Mostly active in the morning or evening.

Same! When we built our house, we did not have AC. Most people here don't have it as it was rarely needed. The past few years, we've used it more. I was VERY glad we had it the year we had fires here! I could not go outside without a respirator-type mask, the air quality was that bad!

The only pisser with a heat pump is, the life expectancy isn't all that long - like 10-12 years. Outside a/c units will go 20-25 years, and gas furnaces will last at least that long. I think that if I were installing a new HVAC system from scratch and that gas was available to the area, that I'd do the gas furnace with electric a/c and forego the heat pump.
