The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

I have a friend with no ac and she said she is good. If you never have it you don't miss it
I understand that with a few caveats. I have had AC. I am on the Gulf coast of central Florida and it is not only the heat but add in the humidity. Is is regularly above a dewpoint of 70+. That is a 90 degree day feels like 105. I worked outside in the desert in 115 degree days but it was dry. I kept my tools under a piece of cardboard so they were not too hot to pick up. I was stationed here in the Air Force for almost 2 years and do not recall the heat at all. I was 18 to 21 then. I spent basic training in TX and there were guys that passed out on the parade grounds. In my advanced age it is much different. How young is your friend?

Morning everyone. Hope the coffee is hot, the buns warm, and the treadmill not too boring! Looked up my work schedule for company recurrent and I have the 4am to noon slot this iteration 😭. That means 0245 wake-ups for me over the next few days….ugh…I’m still on summer sleep in schedule!

Oh well, it’s only for a week. Time to suck it up…Morning Zen…take me away!

Late 60s... ohio is not fla that is for sure. I dont think I could manage. She said she didn't miss what she never had not me.... I need to be cool

I am old enough to remember my childhood when we did not have AC. In the middle of the day you found shade and did nothing. Mostly active in the morning or evening.
Still no AC. I really don’t like it.

We manage with fans in a nice little cooling unit. Some of the nights are beastly, hot, but I really dislike AC.

I know I’m a weirdo!

Tried it. Doesn't work. My POS was here when they installed it and allowed them to lay the pipe in and awkward place that lays flat for 13 or 14 ft, then comes up at a 90 degree angle with a pour spout that stands a little less than a foot high.
Oh no. That sucks. Needs to be able to drain. When this house was built it had AC in attic and it flooded and destroyed the ceiling. I am going to check mine today. I have a reminder on my calendar to check twice a month. Plus there is a float that will shut the unit down.

When I had the AC installed 6 years ago is was one that shoots high velocity air from the floor. So, all drains etc are in the basement. The forcing of cold air up to the ceiling made for a very efficient room circulation.

That's where ours was before it broke. That is why we had to run pipe drain.
