I made the swap from intel to AMD two years or so ago and I'm very happy. The RTX 3080 was expensive and hard AF to get during the shortages.

I remember reading all about that and being SO happy to be on the sidelines lol. What setup did you end up going with?

An AMD Ryzen 9 7900X. It runs cooler than the 9 7950x and you get similar performance. All air cooled and I've never had a problem with it even on games with ultra settings. It's never struggled. The RTX 3080 does a good job and I have 32GB of ram with a 2TB SSD.

Honestly with current technology air cooling can do just about the same thing unless you're cooling with liquid nitrogen or something or overclocking massively. Most of the AIO water coolers are identical on the inside with each company just changing the pump head to look different.
