The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Meetings all morning. Work being very work like.

Five day lilies bloomed today. They’re getting near the end.

Worked out and took a swim this morning before work. There were two little baby frogs on our pool skimmer. (long story, but we have a bad skimmer that was improperly designed, and so we use a solar powered pool robot skimmer - actually works really really well! This morning when I went to empty it, there were three frogs sitting on the top waiting to be rescued. I saved all three.

Threw my back out on Saturday. Messed it up again yesterday being all cocky and paying the price today, lots of back spasms.

Donating blood tonight after work so holding off on taking any Aleve for my back.

It’s feeling very Monday-ish.

🐸 :p 🐸 How kind
My mom had a baby frog on her deck one time. Spotted by one of the niblings when they were itty-bitty themselves. Hours of fun!*
*no frogs were harmed during the Fun Fest with the toddlers

🩸Thank you for your donation.
I'm on the no-donations list medically.

Yes, Monday is feeling very on-brand today
Mind your back!! The Monday Murphy sounds ominous

thanks for donating .... end of summer is always a low spot in supply, and this year I'm waived until Sept.

Good on you donating blood. They won’t use mine goes straight in the bin every two months 😢

How are our Fla residents holding out? Stay safe y’all! Looks like we get the remnants by 9pm tonight. Got my gen fired up yesterday and all is well here. Got my moms fired up also. The only problem?

My dad had an electrician put in a generator feed to the breaker box for a back feed cord (suicide cord as it’s known) and left me instructions of how to hook it up.

Not actually having done it myself, I go to the source of all knowledge…U-Tooooob. If find out that my dad and his electrician buddy….well, they may have “skipped” a safety feature ( lock out kit) and I’m not exactly feeling the luv of using this thing especially with my 81 yr old mother alone and me heading back to work. So looking for an electrician to bless it or maybe redo it with a safer hookup…possibly even a new main breaker box as this one is well over 50 yrs old.

Anyone got a # for a good electrician? 😂.

So, here is some stormy Morning Z!

Yes get a good electrician those suicide connections are very dangerous. I wired my own but according to an approved setup. Mine has a physical interlock between the grid and generator. I can choose what circuits i use so the ac and heavy current items can be managed. That physical interlock is very important

Good luck. Safety is first and foremost, and always paramount.

Maybe have ur mom over rather than a last minute repair?? (Just a suggestion, don’t kill me!!)😀
She has two sources of power…her Gas Gen and huge battery bank that she can use inside. I doubt she’ll lose power but if she does I’ll just run extension cords off both. Eventually we need to rectify the other problem.

I did talk to an electrician and he confirmed my suspicions. My dad went on the cheap without regard to the little safety valves. As it was just he and my mom at the time, no real problem. Now, though with grandkids crawling all over the place, she and I decided we’re going to have all those features installed. Even called the power company to see if they’d update the junction box for free and it looks like they might do that.

The junction box is so old, 52 yrs to be exact, it doesn’t have the Main (unless it’s covered) and only the Gen. I sent the electrician some pics of the setup and he said he’d have to put another box on or we could update the whole box. My mom is leaning towards just getting the whole box redone, then the interlock would fit like you described.

I used to find all sorts of animals in my skimmer including chipmunks. Take it easy on the back.
