How are our Fla residents holding out? Stay safe y’all! Looks like we get the remnants by 9pm tonight. Got my gen fired up yesterday and all is well here. Got my moms fired up also. The only problem?

My dad had an electrician put in a generator feed to the breaker box for a back feed cord (suicide cord as it’s known) and left me instructions of how to hook it up.

Not actually having done it myself, I go to the source of all knowledge…U-Tooooob. If find out that my dad and his electrician buddy….well, they may have “skipped” a safety feature ( lock out kit) and I’m not exactly feeling the luv of using this thing especially with my 81 yr old mother alone and me heading back to work. So looking for an electrician to bless it or maybe redo it with a safer hookup…possibly even a new main breaker box as this one is well over 50 yrs old.

Anyone got a # for a good electrician? .

We could use the rain here. Multiple wild fires burning, we’ve been in the 90’s to 100’s for the last week. The drought monitor shows parts of the state in severe drought. No relief in sight until Thursday, although we are supposed to get t-storms this afternoon. Hopefully the lightning doesn’t spark any more fires.

Cloudy and raining here so far

I was handling a work issue

jk - I'll have plenty of my own in the coming weeks. Massive software update in T -11 days

I actually do a lot of this. I have a crippling arthritis which is why I'm on infusions. If I'm in one position too long or move around too much, I wake up. If I can get 5 hours, it's like 8 for everyone else. I am working on it though. I don't give up easily

I hope that 5 hour sustains you. But also hope if they help that you get plenty of opportunities to nap.

We were coming home on Saturday night and it was cattle throw-down night. The neighbor had 5 cows get out. THey're Angus cattle, so it takes some paying attention to see them. So there's that but of excitement. It makes Life Away From Town entertaining

Good luck. Safety is first and foremost, and always paramount.

Maybe have ur mom over rather than a last minute repair?? (Just a suggestion, don’t kill me!!)

Love this!! We have a county 4H fair coming up where they have all kinds of cool competitions - veggies, flowers, farm stock, tractors, tractor pulls, exhibitions (like what you describe) and rides for the kids… and of course… fireworks.

Meetings all morning. Work being very work like.

Five day lilies bloomed today. They’re getting near the end.

Worked out and took a swim this morning before work. There were two little baby frogs on our pool skimmer. (long story, but we have a bad skimmer that was improperly designed, and so we use a solar powered pool robot skimmer - actually works really really well! This morning when I went to empty it, there were three frogs sitting on the top waiting to be rescued. I saved all three.

Threw my back out on Saturday. Messed it up again yesterday being all cocky and paying the price today, lots of back spasms.

Donating blood tonight after work so holding off on taking any Aleve for my back.

It’s feeling very Monday-ish.
