Day 31: A song for an ending or a last day

Damn, Goran Višnjić looking like a fucking snack 🥵 I wonder if ER is streaming on one of the apps? Asking for me and my thirst.

The Power of Good-Bye - Madonna
I think they used this song on Felicity also. Or one of the WB shows I watched back in the day.

Day 31: A song for an ending or a last day

There's a sadness to this song, like there is to a lot of Alice in Chains songs, and you can almost feel it in a more permanent way when you realize that Layne was a lot closer to the end than the beginning by the time they sat down to record Unplugged. Jerry would say in later interviews that he wrote this when contemplating both the possibility that his friend would die, and that it would mean the end of the band that he'd poured himself into for over at decade. It's the closer on the self-titled album, the last proper one they did before Layne passed. That record has so much 'grunge' to it that this song is sort of the tonic that washes it all down.

And I'm sure it's old age, or a bad stretch of something or other, but some of these heavier, darker, more melancholy songs of my teen years are getting a lot of rotation lately.
