While I can perform the calculations myself, I doubt that you'd understand a reasonable accurate approximation much less second order differential equations. The latter can not be solved analytically so numerical integration is required.

There is a golden tip: most shots spread about one inch per foot back. To be simple, if you need a grouping that is thirty inches to hit the target, let be at most thirty feet back.

so if i used a shotgun using pellets, and fired it from approx 450' away from the single target, the spread would be—what—some 450" or 37.5 FEET... not very effective for taking out a target but might result in multiple minor wounds
